That was a scary 9th inning, though. Papelbon himself said he felt a "little sideways" tonight, whatever that means. I interpret it to mean he wasn't on top of his pitches, but the Cleveland Guardians have a good hitting team and you can't be perfect every time out. He got Sizemore, Blake and Hafner, though, and those are three pretty tough dudes with bats in their hands. The Yankees lost again; can you believe that? Again, putting as much distance between us and them is just what the doctor ordered from where I sit. That, and one game at a time.

Sick win.

Kilo, I know there are two generations between us but what the hell does sick win mean? I kind of thought tonight's win was a pretty darn good one and against a very hot team to boot. Schilling looked like the real Curt and we got two homers and ten hits. Lugo and Drew look like they might be getting it together again with the bat. Does sick win mean a top notch one in today's jargon?

Notice their absence...

One thing that bugged the daylights out of me yeszir was all that hype about Roger Clemens on the tube during SPORTSCENTER and Baseball Tonight. They are handling his return like the return of the prodigal son. I mean, do they know something we don't???? Like his return changes the balance in this AL East race in their favor???? Hey, I'm not dissing the Yankees, but don't you think it is going to take more than Roger's return for that club to start putting it together? They certainly should not be underestimated and I never do that with them, but can one player make up thirteen-and-a-half games? That's very hard to imagine.

Last night featured the return of Curt Schilling IMO. He was teriffic last night. He had the great splitter, and in the late innings he was throwing 92-94 consitently which we have not seen basically since last April when he started off so hot. If he can pitch like this more often then not, we are in great shape.

I was completley wrong about Pedroia, this kid can hit and play solid defense. I almost think it wouldn't be a horrible idea to hit Pedroia leadoff, with Youk hitting second. That would create a lot of base runners for Manny and Ortiz. Lugo can not continue to leadoff, he just isn't a leadoff guy.

pedroia has really impressed after his shaky start

lets hope he can maintain this level of play thruout the summer

as far as dicking around with the lineup.....why??

why fix something that isnt broike?

until they start losing i would leave well enuff alone

can't wait to see roger get slapped around in his first start and shut up all the ESPN people who only care about Bonds, Roger and the NBA. Seriously those 3 subjects take up atleast 40 minutes of sportscenter now

I'm not thinking Youk will beat out Papi in the voting, all though he is probably more deserving right now. I dont think Leyland will pick him either.
