Strike 3' date=' not one of those games Ive had good things to say about Tito. Okajima and Papelbon should somehow each get the day off tomorrow night[/quote']

I understand your concern, but I can also understand why he used them tonight. They really needed this game to make sure that the Yanks get no closer than 9.5 games when this series is over, and they accomplished that. Even if they lose tomorrow, this series will be a success in my eyes because of the deficit that the Yanks still face. If we win, wonderful. 11.5 games back sounds good to me :)

Does he just need a little drama to get pumped up? He just put Jeter in his back pocket. Completely dominated him that AB.

I'd rather have Papelbon syndrome than Derek Lowe syndrome.

I don't like how Tito managed this either. Jima and Paps shouldn't have been used today. When you have a 5-run leading going into the 8th you HAVE to have some faith in your pen from others than your setup/closer. Piniero, Delcarmen, etc should have been out there. If they make it a save situation, then you go to your setup/closer. Other wise, REST THEM.

Yes very true, just dread seeing the bullpen without those 2 trying ot protect a 2 run lead into the 8th if it comes to that. Still good overall, 10.5 now, lets keep piling these Ws on. After the Sox, the Yankees get to greet their best friends.... the Angels:D

I understand the argument that the sox needed this game. But they can win it by using other pitches. They had 6 outs and a 5-run game. If they put out pineiro or snyder or donnelly for the 8th good. If they get into trouble and all of a sudden its a 3 run game, then go to your setup/closer. Otherwise, there is no need to panic. You have to have faith in your pen when you have a 5-run lead.

Have you read my posts or do you just talk out of your ass all willy nilly?

How about the job Tavarez and Lopez did again?

I'm not arguing that. I think they did great today. But I don't like a manager putting in a setup/closer when its a 5+ run game. And Kilo, I wasn't targeting you. But I just don't agree with the mentality that because this is a must win, we should go to our setup/closer when we have a commanding lead. We may very well need them tomorrow. I understand the mentality behind it, but I don't agree the decision.

The Yankees lineup isn't even a dime a dozen. You don't see a lineup like that ANYWHERE but in the Bronx. I'm not saying we're going to do that everytime, but the only reason that it happened tonight is because we NEEDED a game this weekend. Losing 2/3 is ok, but getting swept wasn't, and we weren't willing to take a chance. It's the situation that the team is in right now, not because of a lack of faith.

IDK. The Yankees lineup has been struggling all year. And remember, for the 9th we were facing the bottom of their lineup. I wouldn't worry putting Delcarmen in the 9th with a 5-run lead against their 7-8-9. In the extreme case he loads the bags then you can go to paps. But you just don't need to panic when you are in command of the game like that.

Yeszir PM'd me asking if I would like the spot, and I accepted.

By the way, I'm expecting an update on "The New Red" soon!

Haha, I've been so busy lately I haven't been able to get to it.

I think I'm gonna scrap the series recaps and just do random articles.
