if I remember correctly' date=' the last time wake faced the tigers, they hit 7 solo homers and still lost. As for Maroth, the Tigers are 7-0 in his starts.[/quote']

Wake's last start vs Detroit was last year, they hit 2 HRs there. Most of his woes have come when facing the Tigers at Comerica Park.

Mike Maroth sucks against the Red Sox (0-6, 7.22 ERA). The streak ends Wednesday

Still dont get why you acted like leaving in Okajima against right handed power hitters is danger for the Sox. He's Paps' main setup man and has been deadly to righties.

Most likely. He collided with Austin Kearns, rolled over in obvious pain, looked at his hand, and slammed his glove down out of frustration. Word has it that it's a dislocated pinky. If this is true, the Sox got out of facing Bonderman and Smoltz in this stretch. That's huge.

And it's awesome that Tavarez's start will most likely come against Mike Maroth. With our offense clicking the way it has and with Tavarez's recent performances, we have a chance to win that one as well.

GOD I LOVE THIS TEAM.

Schill, all I'm concerned about is tomorrow's game and hope Tim has his "A" game going and we give him the hitting support we did last time. I get the impression the team feels the same way because the Red Sox seemed to be on a mission tonight playing the hottest team in the AL. I got the impression that yesterday's win was just that, yesterday. To me that is a very good sign.

wowwwwwwww what a win

Dice-K officially became a Red Sox tonight

I don't know about you BoSox but I was wondering how our team would respond after the glow of yesterday's comeback wore off and we started worrying about how to deal with the Tigers. Daisuke came through with a real gem tonight and we got him 15 hits; that's the mark of a very good team. Now what we need is a top notch game from Tim tomorrow and some good hitting support to aid him along.

Supposedly Jim Leyland said about Dice-K, "I'm impressed. He's the real deal." Yea, you gotta save your ass after making those comments before the game when you get your ass shut down by him.

Good Boston Herald article on Dusty's defense. Didnt realize he's the best 3rd defensive 2nd baseman in the majors when it comes to zone rating (percentage of balls fielded in typical defensive zone). BTW only 2 that are better are Chase Utley and Mark Ellis

Wow, yeah, I mean I thought he was good, but not that good. Then again he does make many diving plays and seems to read the ball well off the bat.

I think this is the game you mean, in 2004. Six homers, five of them solo shots, one a two run shot...and Wake still got the win. Youk had two homers in this game.
