I was cracking up laughing. Sometimes they can help you get by when a game is really dragging on. I miss the fights between Jerry and that Devil Ray mascot

that was hilarious. I just saw it on my new 40" HD LCD TV. Back in New England for the first time in 4 yrs. It is pretty nice.

How much was Romero's WHIP exaggerated by the Texas game?

Please, tell me.

Don't bother. He goes down this road in just about every argument. Of course, when talking about Pettitte, he's quick to remind that one bad start can skew the numbers early in the season. Not so with relief pitchers who've seen limited use. For them the numbers are absolute.

Yess Sox win! 21-10

Beckett... what else can you say? 7-0, 2.51 ERA, 40 Ks in 46.2 innings. He couldve gone longer too but understand why Tito gave him the rest of the game off.

The offense just really came together and gave the Sox a nice easy win. Recently its just been 3 run leads or less. Varitek is heating up and more. Dusty this kid is steadily turning into the palyer i have been tracking since he was first drafted :)

Hey was this the first error less game in some time?

Tito gets his 300th career win as a Red Sox

Does Hansack also have a trick pitch' date=' or are you just being ornery?[/quote']

Ornery, but there have been loads of successful pitchers who don't throw hard.

Besides, his MO is good control and he has a lot of movement on his pitches.

He can have success in this league.

If he sits at 92, that's good, but if that's what he tops out at it's no big deal. Is he truly next in line for the 5th slot or is that speculation on these and other boards? I thought he threw harder. Personally, I'd go to Snyder before I'd give the slot to Hansack. I think Tavarez is the best of the three.

Until Lester is ready' date=' there is Tavarez, Snyder, Hansack, Gabbard and Pauley as well who have been pitching well in Pawtucket[/quote']Has the FO indicated the pecking order after Tavarez?

Relax. We know Clemens would be an upgrade over all three anyway. ;)

Ornery again.

Just go tease the family dog and let someone else answer the questions.

What can you say about Josh Beckett, he is the ace we though he would be last season. 7-0 in 7 starts is increidible. Our offense is really clicking right now, even Tek should be close to hitting .300 right now. If Beckett can win about 20 games this year, than we should easily make the playoffs. 6 games ahead is a nice feeling. We really have a chance coming up to put more distance between us and the Yankees in the next month. The Yanks schedule is brutal, and we have a 10 game homestand coming up. It would be good to have a 8-9 game cushion when the Rocket comes back.

Our top four starters are now 17-5. That pretty much says it all.

now is your chance, you are right. Starting June 1, Hughes and Clemens will be rounding out our rotation, making it one of the deepest in the game. You will need as much space by then as possible.

I would have to agree, We need as much space as possible, but I really think are starting pitching is going to only get better when Lester comes back. I know I'm putting a lot of faith in this kid, but he pitched well pre-cancer!

Even though it's early in the season, every game is crucial when you are in the AL East. With the exception of the D-Rays, which can play the spoiler, it's always the toughest division to play in. We'll have to see how this whole season unfolds!

If the Yankees can close that gap to 3 games by the All-Star break, they will run away with it again.

The Sox are hitting on all cylinders right now. The Yankees are starting to ramp up. What happens with Beckett has a blister, Shilling's back gives him issues, etc. Injuries are not only a part of the game, but a very big part of both of these teams considering their respective ages on the roster.

The Yankees are better than .500 ball, and the Sox won't win 2 out of 3 games the rest of the year either.

I realize sweeps can go in either direction, but if the Yankees are on a roll when Boston comes to town, and if we return the favor, it's a brand new race.

I still think our rotation will be better. We have guys that get to the eighth inning, your pitchers will probably make it to around the 6 inning most of the time.

What don't you understand about it Gom? The only reason the Red Sox fell out of the race last year is because a freak amount of injuries happened all at once at the worst possible time.

Like what happened to the Yankees in April of this season? No team in baseball is 110 win team right now.

Ok listen at time the Sox were still in first place around the all-star break (Sox had already Wells, Clement, Timlin doing stints on the DL)... these Sox missed time over the next 6 weeks-- Schilling, Wakefield, Papelbon, Ortiz, Manny, Trot, Wily Mo, Youkilis, Lowell, Alex Gonzalez, Mark Loretta. Varitek was the killer. The Yankees April injuries arent similar at all to the vast ammount of injuries that befell the Sox the middle of last year

Um source that Schilling has had back issues? I think your mixed up with Randy Johnson. Not paying attention, the Sox have been working with Beckett since he came aboard to fix his blister problem. Their medical staff found out its eczema. Gasp! Eczema is treatable. Last time I checked (to Yankee fans doubting) Beckett hurled career high 205 innings and made 33 starts

65-66 still 86-76 record. Still wagering that the Sox will finish in 3rd place with an 86-76 record?
