Everyone knows it's going to happen, Barry Bonds will hit #756 to surpass Hank Aaron. It will happen this year barring injuries. This thread is to post all Bonds discussion and homer alerts. He's coming to Fenway in June, and I got tickets to one of the games. He has a slight chance to hit it here.

 

He hit #740 yesterday, April 22.

You know what, he "cheated" but so did everyone else. And technincally, he didn't cheat unless he is still doing them. I can't say I like the guy, but you cannot disregard him. If steroids were all it took to be the greatest home run hitter ever, Jason Grimsley could make a big league team as a hitter.

 

It is still a tremendous accomplishment and should be celebrated. People need to face it. This is/was the steroid era. It is just another part of baseball history, and Barry is the greatest home run hitter in baseball's history so far. His record should be celebrated. Bud Selig should be immediately fired if he is not there.

I disagree. He cheated. I don't care if many other were also cheating. Taking steroids is cheating. Period. Griffey didn't take them. Why, because he knew it was cheating and he respected the game. I will not forgive Bonds or any other athlete who has used steriods. I'm not just talking baseball either. I thought that Shawn Merriman shouldn't have made Pro-bowl after testing possitive for steriods. The connection between his amazing start and testing postive for roids is more than coincidence.

 

Bonds cheated and that is that. I will never respect his career numbers. I'm not denying the fact that he is a supurb player, he was one of the best, but his numbers have been inflated because he cheated. It was a bad choice and I will hold it over him and his numbers because of it. It's his fault. It is roids that caused so many summers of 60, and 70+ homerun chases, not just great hitters.

I hate Bonds, I dont even care he used Juice, becaus emost the pitchers he faced were juiced so its a moot point in my book, I just don't like him because he is a prick that needs all the attention on himself to feed his ego.

Giambi admitted to steroids, why is he still playing?

 

And Bonds, obviously juiced, and sadly he's gonna go into the Hall of Fame, unlike Pete Rose who was a great player, but won't be allowed in because he betted. I know that's against the rules, but betting doesn't put the game in one teams favor. Where as a juiced player has better performance, thus changing the possible outcome of a game.

 

It sickens me to see crap bags like Bonds, Sheffield, Giambi, the whole Baclo Bunch still allowed to play.
