This just in. Don't run on Delmon Young. Just threw a 250' seed, no bounces to get a guy at the plate. Catch it on SportsCenter or BBTN. Complete hose. Vladdy-like.

Can anyone make sense of the CIN lineup tonight?

1. Ryan Freel - .293/.379/.345 - good choice

2. Adam Dunn - .302/.380/.524 - should be 3rd/4th

3. Brandon Phillips - .227/.307/.455 - wtf?

4. Jeff Conine - .286/.333/.536 - Conine? Cleanup?

5. Alex Gonzalez - .283/.346/.326 - 5th? INSANITY

6. Josh Hamilton - .313/.436/.844 - Sure, let's hit Gonzo and Conine ahead of this guy

7. Edwin Encarnacion - .154/.254/.173 - Meh

8. Dave Ross - .111/.150/.111 - Works for me

9. Pitcher

Can you f*** that group of players up anymore than that constructing a lineup? You'd have to try hard. Should be:

Freel

Phillips

Hamilton

Dunn

Conine

Gonzalez

Encarnacion

Ross

Pitcher

All day, every day.

EDIT: And Hamels just finished a 15K, 1R CG against them.

yeah, i was really puzzled when I was checking on my Reds players from my fantasy teams. Why one arth is hit or miss Dunn in the 2 hole?

Dunn is the prime example of a perfect 4 or 5 hitter. Low average, gargantuan power, very high OBP. But #2? Thats probably the worst place he could go. 2 spot is mainly for contact guys. He is not one.

The Rox just got an unasisted triple-play against the Braves in the top of the 7th with a 5-5 tie. Chipper Jones was up, they sent the runners from 1st and 2nd on a full-count, and it was a liner to SS that Tulowitski caught, stepped on the bag, tagged the runner from 1st.

Unassisted triple plays are sweet, but if you've seen one you've seen 'em all.

I wanna have a little contest. I'm not positive of the answers, but I'll find out after we get some answers. I want to see who can name the most players who have had an unassisted triple play.

Troy Tulowitzki' date=' 2007 ROY.[/quote']

He's going to have one hell of a tough time beating out Hamilton.

Isn't that kind of like predicting an injury, though? Sure, if he stops playing ball for some reason, then Tulowitski has a better shot.

Not in-game yet, but it looks like Lincecum will get the start on Sunday night against the Phils.

Thanks to you, I nagged him with his 4-0 record and .29 ERA in AAA for my other fantasy teams

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about Sunday night's game, and not just because I have him in fantasy. Lincecum vs. Hamels in Sunday primetime? Like buttah.

That didn't make my day. :(

Well, that remains to be seen. He's got some promise, but he hasn't pitched at this level yet.

True, but when looking at a competitor, I assume the worst, and go from there ( ie. never underestimate an opponent ).

Folks, when/if you watch Baseball Tonight for the coverage of today's games, let me know what you guys think about the play at the plate in in the TB/FLA game. The Ray's announcers are beside themselves calling it a dirty play, but I disagree. Olivo was just sliding into home, but unfortunately the throw to the plate was bad and Paul had to reach across and low to try and catch the ball, and it resulted in the catcher's arm getting caught under the spikes. He didn't come out of the game, but hyperextended it pretty bad. I think it was just unfortunate, not dirty. If anyone watches it, let me know what you think.
