Tek and Crisp look like they are turning it around. Manny is starting to lock in. The rotation is good. The bully is better than the pundits said.

Folks, this baseball team is good.

The Sox Win, 4 game win streak!! :papelbon:

The bullpen held their own again, Beckett turned in a respectable outing and is now 4-0 to start the season (he'll get the O's next), and the bats at Fenway Park continue to be f***ing lethal (53 runs in first 7 games). Coco/Tek starting to do a very good 180

Tomorrow Daisuke looks to complete the sweep, Kilo keep up this mojo

Wow!!!!!! Were your hearts beating as hard as mine was????? Paps came through again but I could have sworn that Davidson was squeezing Jonanthan a few of those pitches, especially to the traitor Damon. Anyway, this is a game we should have won. During the game, did any of you notice how many ball we hit right up against the Monsters. I kept yelling get back in the weight room.....Five feet more and five feet high and we might have had three or four more runs. We've not got this series but I'd be less than downright greedy when I say I want the hat trick tomorrow.

With this yankees offense it is ALWAYS interesting. When are they ever more than 6-7 minutes away from putting 4 on the board?

EX, I'm sure you noticed how many men we were leaving on the sacks in the late innings. I kept wondering if we wanted to let the Yankees back in the game and, frankly, it worried me, but Papelbon is Papelbon and he found a way of ending it in our favor. Tomorrow, let's get those extra runners home.

I am happy' date=' think Tito has seen the light... his best 2 relievers not named Papelbon, Donnelly & Okajima are warming up in the pen. Unless anything changes they could be the main setup men for Paps this season[/quote']

Riverside, don't count out Timlin. I think with Okajima, Donnelly, Timlin and Papelbon our bullpen should be fine this year, barring unforseen circumstances like injuries. Piniero and Romero can do some pitching but must be kept on a short leash. It would be a dandy if those two started throwing well.

This is just a solid win today. Our offense is clicking right now and Manny is hitting under 200, imagine what it will be like when he starts getting it going. Beckett was solid today, nothing in the first inning was hit hard off of him, and he was getting sqeezed, and the error really hurt in the second, but after that he pitched great. Paps is amazing, and Let's hope DiceK can even his record tommorow and send the Yankees home swept. Great win!!!

nice job fans' date=' let the guy leaning over the tarp get the ball when your standing right under it[/quote']

RDSX, you noticed that stupid fan with that equally stupid smile on his face, too? He made a real half-ass effort to try for the ball. I would have liked to see Youk have one more shot at the Yankees. Well, it did work out ok in the end.

Timlin pitched very well today, and looks like he may be in the 7th-8th inning mix after all. Looks like I was right to want to give Timlin a chance, if pitches at a 2003-2005 level, we will have one solid bulpen.

Good game today, we shellacked Karstens. Beckett was pretty bad the first 2 innings, then settled down and got in cruise control in innings 3-6. Papelbon notched the 5th save, even though I got a little nervous as the Abreu fly left the bat. Looked gone. Okajima and Timlin combined for 1 1/3 of perfect relief, good to see always.

Record improves to 11-5 as the Yanks fall to 8-8. Good chance of a sweep tomorrow with Dice going against Chase Wright. But with the Yanks offense, nothing is a given.

7 of 8 against the Angels, Blue Jays and Yankees is superb. Let's keep this s*** going.

Hey, here is those winning streaks I told you and if anyone thinks it doesn't have just as much to do with guys on the hill as anyone they are dead wrong.

first time in his career i believe that he is 4-0

That is true and its also his career high 4th consecutive win. Couple other minor notes is that Ortiz's HR today was his 179th as a Red Sox moving him past Nomar to 10th all-time in franchise history. Manny is 9 hits away from his 1000th as a Red Sox

I'll pat myself on the back. I'm one of the few who thought this team was going to be not just okay, but GOOD this year. So far, so good.

Thank GOD for Papelbon in the pen though.

Same could be said for last year's team, but then again even I thought last years was bad at the begining of the season. As for this year though, I as well thought they'd be good, so kudos to us.

Anyway, good game today, though the defense wasn't great. Beckett was good, and the Yanks really seemed to be hitting his fastball well. Good to see these games from Coco and Tek, hopefully they'll stay clicking when Manny gets it together. Bad to see Cora starting, I think Pedroia couldv'e used the reassurance that he still had his job. But no matter, a wins a win, lets sweep it tomorrow.

ksushi, you'll get no argument from me on that. Anyone with common sense knows that our pitching has to be the key for us this season, both starters and relievers. However, I would like to add a caveat to that if I may. When we play the Yankees I don't expect that our pitchers, good as they are, will be able to shut them down cold unless they are in a collective slump. One to nine they are a powerful hitting team; we have to go out there and hit their pitchers well and be able to score five, six or seven runs a game because they are going to score at least four or five themselves.

I think I said yesterday that it would take six or seven runs to win and someone might have said it about today's game. That's what we got and it was barely enough. I know good pitching can stop good hitting, but the pressure a Red Sox pitcher has every time he has to go through that Yankee lineup can take its toll in hits allowed, pitches thrown and runners on base. What's more, this year Tampa Bay has a good hitting team. so does Toronto, and Baltimore is improved as well. Our hitting must come around and be consistent as it has been the past two games. Now if only Manny will start smashing the ball we would be in very good shape. He did his four balls hard today, though he had only one hit to show for it. I hope you are greedy as I am ksushi; I want the hat trick tomorrow.
