THAT is why I like Youkilis. If the guy can make solid contact he really has a good sense of which pitches are hitable. It seems like his ability to get hitable pitches is better than a whole lot of other hitters in the league.

Why did Tek set up there? Inside and low is the wrong spot because he gets to extend his arms. You have to make him shorten up.

When is someone going to make that guy uncomfortable at the plate? Seriously. If he is going to otherwise hit a double, what's the harm in throwing him inside and, at worst, walking him.

 

He shouldn't be getting this many hitable pitches right now.

I think A-Rod has 3 zones that are 'his': down and away, up and away, and down and in. Up and in isn't a 'weak' spot necessarily, but if you miss up and in and hit him then oh well. no big deal. Especially with someone who throws as hard as Beckett does, just get into his head a little bit. Just a LITTLE bit.
