Yeah' date=' he should go another inning with Snyder. I agree.[/quote']

One time through the order works for me. Save the big boys for tomorrow/weekend.

I'd like to see Snyder then Romero.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but ESPN just announced that MLB and cable have reached a 7 year agreement for EI.

f*** YEAH!!

Riverside, I know you have always been behind this kid--as have I. He hasn't proven himself fully yet, but he looks pretty damn comfortable up there.

Dusty continuing to gel' date=' another base hit for him, another time getting on base, another ball he has hit with some force behind it. Ho hum[/quote']He's swinging the bat with some confidence.

I think two weeks ago that was called swinging from his heels.... wasn't it? Has Pedroia ever NOT hit with confidence?
He has 97 ML ABs. Maybe "ever" is a bit of an overstatement?

Maybe when he was hitting .193? :dunno:

Maybe that's putting too much weight on the stats and not enough on the track record. He hit a lot of outs hard last year, and he doesn't strike out. He draws walks and plays a confident second base.

The point is that a few weeks ago he was criticized for swinging hard and hitting the ball AT people instead of getting hits. Isn't he 24?

He probably has 10,000 "other" ABs and comes with a tremendous scouting report. My point isn't that he has had a great ML career, my point is that those who have watched him throughout his career (Sox offensive player of the year, NCAA All-American, etc.,) certainly didn't expect him to come up and suck.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity (because I was guessing out of my ass :D how many ABs do you think the average ML rookie has had before he makes the bigs? 4,000 maybe?)

He still needs to shorten his swing. He can swing hard, but he can't have a long swing or it will be exploited by the pitchers. Tonight the swing didn't look that long. Maybe he is adjusting.

As you know Ive said before that the sub mendoza line avg was hurt by him starting off with just 4 hits in 41 ABs. He then responded by going 13 for his last 48, and is now starting to hit good to start off the season. Its all about how he is when he is first promoted, it also took him awhile to heat up in Triple A last year

The bullpen has done a very nice job. I wonder who gets the boot when Timlin comes back. Both Romero and Lopez have looked really good, and so didn't Synder tonight. Let's see how Pinerio does tonight here in a mop up roll.

He looks much different now than in the first 3 1/2 weeks of SPring Training.

There are a lot of guys that take that long.

You've been pretty fair about Pedroia a700. It is easy to be skeptical of giving an unaccomplished 2B the starting job on one of the highest payroll teams in baseball. I completely understand that.
