Does anyone thing he has any gas left in the tank, because I sure don't. He's now hitting under .100 this spring and that and his slip during the second half of last season is great cause for concern. We should have gotten rid of him and persued Huff. Oh well. I really hope the FO gets rid of Delcarmen, Tavarez, and Lowell so they can get Helton and move Youk to 3rd.

He had a bad slow bat last spring too. I hate ST so much, everyone gets on the case of every player who doesn't look like an all star after 2 weeks and its crazy. ST means nothing, guys are trying to get back into competitive shape and it takes time. Wait until the last week or so and make judgements.

I know ST really doesn't mean that much, but I'm worried about the guy. He hit only .257 after the all-star break and he's now 33. I don't know about you, but that is certainly cause for concern, especially where he had a terrible season in 05.

THANK YOU! Lowell was a doubles machine last season and I like his glove.

Wrong sir, I remember very distinctly many people bitching about how slow his bat was, and it looked very slow. Everyone thought it was going to be another season of .230 hitting and mediocre power for him. Everyone, even me for a little while. ST doesn't mean anything though.

I saw him last spring, and I saw that he was handling and driving the heat but he was out on his front foot every time a curve or change came. Later in the Spring, Lowell confirmed that he was having a lot of trouble with pitch recognition on offspeed pitches.

I think last spring he looked lost in general. I like Lowell, I'd like to trade Lowell more than I'd like to keep him at the moment. I'm still crossing my fingers for Helton.

Oblivously' date=' we'd rather have Helton, but Lowell exceeded expectations after his post-roid year last year. I like him[/quote']

So because Mike Lowell had a bad year in 05 means he took steriods?

most of the bitching came before he started here

he had a horrid 05,started slow last spring and the talk was he was finished

did he or did he not have more xtra base hits than all world todd helton?

he played a tremendous 3rd base last season but i felt he was overmatched every time we had him hit 5th..he never produced there

Lowell's a good player. Like every ball player. I think he's just in a slump.

I suspect he'll come out of it this season. He's 33, he's not a young hot shot anymore.

Last year he came out batting .284 with 20 homers, and over all he's a good RBI man.

I've always liked Lowell, I remember him when he played for Florida he was just a good hitter. Not the best, not power, but he brought guys in.

I think it's best the Sox keep on to him just a little longer.

He's had a slow spring but so what that doesn't mean anything when it comes to next year. Lowell will be fine and he will play well. He's still a solid player and he's great over there at third for us.
