Ok so the Celtics have lost 15 in a row now? I have lost count. What can we expect for the rest of the year, it seems at this point they should just keep the slide going and get a higher pick, but Danny Ainge has said they don't want to get younger they need another talented veteran. If your Danny Ainge what do you do now?

If Ainge really wants to do that, the only REALLY trading chip (if they want to keep their team together) is that 1st round pick. And the only way any team will give up anything for it is if it's a top 5 pick.

My opinion is hope for a top pick, Oden seems to be the one most C's fans want. There will be a few nice players in the draft, and maybe, if Ainge is serious about getting a vet, he'll make a draft day trade.

Wow people are being SO f***ing retarded about this.

1. You DONT trade Al Jefferson for Pau Gasol. He's 5 years younger, doesn't have broken feet, and will be an even better player

2. You DONT trade Paul Pierce for ANYONE. He's the key to this team

3. You DONT tank. You don't need to with this team. Keeping Pierce out this long has been enough to lose games.

4. You HOPE that you can pick Greg Oden. I swear on my life if we get the #1 pick and we pass on Oden to get Durant I will stab Danny Ainge in the heart. Greg Oden is the next dominant center in the NBA, Durant is just another swing man.

People are so f***ing retarded and think that the Celtics have no future because their losing. If they keep losing and get Oden, in 08 they can be a contender in the East.

C: Oden/Perkins

PF: Jefferson/Gomes

SF: Pierce/Wally

SG: Allen/Green

PG: Delonte/Rondo

This team needs no major shake ups at all. This team doesn't need Gasol. This team doesn't need to trade Pierce. So stop being f***ing retarded and bringing all that stuff up.

Yeah, you don't really need to tank and have the worst record to get the number one pick. Just hope for a lot of luck in the lottery.

since the magical year of 86 nothing but back luck has befallen this franchise after 30 years of incredible luck and success

this is a sport where 1 man makes a winner out of a loser

oden is the guy who can change things

although the guy from texas is a scoring machine yanks hater makes a good point about swingmen and stabbing danny ainge

vancouver or denver come to mind

Nice work.

What was the longest NBA losing streak?

For some reason we had a bit of a hard time finding and confirming this record, maybe it's a NBA cover-up.

The record for the longest losing streak in the NBA is held by two lowly teams, the 1995-96 Vancouver Grizzlies and the 1997-98 Denver Nuggets, each losing 23 games in a row.

This is great. We actually have a direction now. Last season, we were bad and the lottery watch was active throughout the whole second half, however there was still a slim possibility of making the playoffs which sucked. This year, I had a bad feeling that it was going to be a repeat but this is the best option other than winning it all, in my opinion.

Losing is great? Your a f***ing idiot my friend. You call yourself a Celtics fan? My ass you are.

The Celtics could win out the season from here, miss the playoffs, and get the last lottery pick and I'd be happy.

This is a great fan right here.

Losing will never, ever be great. Ever. The only thing that's great about what's going on in Boston is that other teams are saying how hard your team is continuing to play. You might get Oden or Durant by being in the League's cellar but I would guess they're losing more and more confidence in themselves with every game that this streak continues through. That is a bad, bad thing with young players. But if you're going to find joy in your team losing, you're quickly losing any credibility for when you ramble on in arguments about how big of a Celtics fan you are.

^^Thank you See Red. A true fan wants to see their team succeed no matter what. Now I realize the best "option" is losing to get Oden, but honestly, who openly roots for their team to lose? Thats absolute ludacris. Like I said, The Celtics could win out the season from here, miss the playoffs, and get the last lottery pick and I'd be happy. If you want your team to lose, you deserve to be shot, and should never even consider yourself a Celtics fan.

Whatever, I don't know about you but I'm absolutely sick of being in the lower class but not quite the worst in the NBA. That's the equivalent of being stuck in hell in the NBA because it's extremely unlikely to win while rebuilding. So what's the point of winning right now? So we can get the 8th or 9th overall pick instead of having the oppurtunity of drafting a franchise player? This is a lost season and the best option right now is to fantank as Bill Simmons puts it, and hope to draft either Oden or Durant.

Also, even if the Celtics lose 60 games and have the worst record, theres no guarantee that they will get the #1 pick. That's why it's a lottery.

Anyway, I hate losing. I hate it. Having Nash out sucks. We lose when hes out. Now I realize the reason we lose (when hes out) and I don't get absurdly heated about it (like I normally do) because its obvious why we lose, but it still blows.

I don't see what the big deal is. Whether you want your team to win meaningless games now, or whether you want your team the best chance to get immediate improvement, in the end, you want something good for your team. One thing gives immediate gratification of a smaller magnitude, the other offers future gratification of a higher magnitude. Either way, you love your team. Personally, if my team is out of it, I'm rooting for the potential to get the best possible offseason upgrade. Yeah, I know that due to the lottery there are no guarantees, but having more ping pong balls in the hopper is better than less. And, no matter what happens, the Celts aren't winning the big prize this year. Might as well hope for the big prize of the offseason.

Wow, someone who can actually open their eyes. Let's hope your predictions are true.

18 in a row and counting

First the 49ers, then the Colts, and now the Mavs?

Tell me, do you ever pull a hamstring hopping on these bandwagons?

Fair enough, guys. I have a difficult time looking at someone who roots for their team to lose as a fan. That may just be me, though.

I think with a group of veterans, the losing wouldn't be so bad but with as many young players as the Celtics have, confidence must just be plummeting -- and that's something Greg Oden can't restore. Besides, Oden will help, but it's going to take a lot more than him to get the Celtics to where they want to go.

im still a 49ers fan , im not a colts fan ,the reason i was routing for them is because my money was on them.. i have been a mavs fan for the past 9 years . my hamstring is fine ;)
