Who is Randy Wolfe?

If you're talking about Wolf, three seasons in a row is a bit of a stretch when you have TJ surgery in there somewhere.

But hey, I'll play along and say the newest LuGo (Gonzo). He's taking playing time away from Kemp.

I am extremely happy to be rid of Lugo and Drew. Soon you all will understand this, sometime in April.

Did Billingsley get to pitch a decent amount of innings this past season?

When are Kemp and Broxton expected to break into the bigs? I'm extremely interested in following Broxton.

Broxton was called up in May of 2005.

Kemp had 7 HR in 40 AB before his power numbers dropped off significantly.

Broxton was the Dodgers' setup man almost all of last season. He's already broken in.

Kemp has incredible potential. Needs to work on hitting breaking balls. He'll probably be the 5th outfielder this year if he's not at Las Vegas AAA. I can see Repko and Marlon anderson taking the #4 and #5 OF spots behind Gonzo, Pierre, and Eithier.

Personally, I think Kemp is better than Eithier, who hits for average. Little power from him so far.

Billingsley pitched a few innings too many to take himself out of the running for this year's ROY.

Billingsley cant keep his pitch count down, in the NL West. He's a long ways off. Broxton is power all the way. Kemp is a fastball hitter who cannot hit a breaking ball. Ethier tailed off something fierce last yr.

A good interview about Ned Colletti's views on Drew and Lugo.

http://sportsblogs.latimes.com/sports_baseball_dodgers/2007/01/talking_with_ne_2.html

Brian Kamenetzky: Looking back on your first year as a GM and even up to this offseason, what do you feel is your biggest accomplishment and what do you feel has been your greatest disappointment or failure, if you'd call it that?

Ned Colletti: I would say the greatest accomplishment, and I'm not really comfortable talking about things like that, would be the enjoyment that the fans took from this club last year. That was probably the most pleasing thing. It was a by-product of how the team played. How they went about it. How they continued to battle through a lot of injuries and losing guys for an entire season. All of that. And how they stuck with it. I think it started to captivate the city again. I think the fans deserve it. They're great. They're passionate. I had no idea how passionate until I came here.

And to see them more pleased than not with the approach of the club, I think was probably as important a piece as anything. I think it encompasses who the players are, how they play, their respect for the game, their respect for the Dodgers, their respect for the city. The fans saw it. They had record attendance. Those games in September were meaningful. The game against San Diego which will live on for all of time. The last game where Nomar hits a grand slam in a walk off. I guess that's the accomplishments you're asking me about.

Disappointments? I was surprised that the trade we made with Tampa Bay at the deadline, where we got (Julio) Lugo. I was disappointed with how that worked out.

AK: If I was to come up with a "disappointment," that would probably be it for me, too.

So it's not the trade, but Lugo's performance, that dissapointed him.

That tells me that he still thinks the trade was good based upon what he knew at the time. Since it hasn't been too long since that deal, I'd have the same reasonably high expectations for Lugo in Boston.

To judge him on the short time he was in LA alone is not appropriate and that is one thing that Colletti really has not done.
