Good win by the Pats, Ida perfered to lose by like 10 or less, but I can survive by this, I knew we wouldn't go far, but going made me happy as it was. And Seeing Jerricho with that TD also made me happy, with the fact that were 28mil under the cap and only have one Starter with an expiering contract, as well as a 23rd(?) pick, Im going to be very, very excited for next year!

red, this is the problem. The Jets are two yrs away from being good. Next season, the Jets will be 8-8, 7-9 as the schedule gets brutal and everyone will think Mangenius is a Mangina and people will want him fired. This is not a good team, but a good philosophy. In 08-09, the Jets will be good.

ugh. He cannot be looking at getting too much more than the Pats are willing to pay can he? He is not elite' date=' just very good.[/quote']

Same goes toward Branch & Givens. Both left the Pats because they felt they deserve #1 type money. Outside the Pats system, both are solid #2 options but not elite

the machine that is the patriots will find a cornerback.

Yes I think that is the plan but I hate seeing established players just leaving a winning franchise with no bad roads ahead thus far, because of ka-ching.

They got an additional draft pick from the Seahawks for Branch will help some in the coming draft. Id like to see 1 or 2 speedy steady handed cornerbacks be drafted and sign some veteran help. That is the top priority once their offseason starts

Agreed, the Patriots don't pay bloated salaries, unelss they absolutely need you (Tom Brady). However, theys ee it as being a priveledge to play with their team, and if your eally want to go to a worse team for more money, then go right ahead, we'll see you next season. They've shown it with Branch and Givens, and we'll do it with Samuel if needed.

Also, I agree riverside, we should focus on corners and receivers this draft, though I think all our receivers this year just needed time with Brady.

What a great season for the Jets. Good luck Pats. I hope they win the Superbowl, then at least Jet fans can say they lost to the champ.

I'd ahve a lot more respect for the Jets and their fans if they didn't talk so much smack, but I guess thats what comes with a rivalry.

Jets fans never should have talked smack. That team was putrid. The coaches and the discipline of that team were remarkable. Thus proving that you still need talent to go along with discipline.

yeah, Mangini is a good coach, now he just needs to get the personnel his way (liek Cochery) and build it his way.

Cotchery was a pleasant surprise. I still feel the Jets need a bruising back and a QB with a solid arm before the Jets do anything. Pennington is a solid QB and all, but his complete and utter lack of an arm negates the deep play and that was how the Pats stunned a few teams in the past. Clemens is a nice piece and he may be the QB of the future. Washington reminds me of Kevin Faulk. The Jets need the Corey Dillon or Moroney style HB. I like the O line moves in the draft, but they need skill on offense and defensive backs next yr.

Michael Bush might be available by the time the Jets pick. He's a hoss, and would be a good pick-up for the Jets.

He might be. Bruising back mixed with the lightning quicks of Washington would make things nice. I like the receiving corps. Baker really emerged as an option as a TE and that line can only get better. I like the D line, I think the LBs are nice but the defensive secondary is s***. Pennington is a good QB for a team like Baltimore because he wont lose you games, but his limitations are better suited for a D first team and the Jets are incomplete on that end. Bush would be nice. A hard hitting safety would be nice too, to at least make a WR think twice before coming over the middle. The see if you can get a steal late at corner. I still dont think they are gonna do anything big next yr, but once that line solidies and Clemens is ready to be the man, the Jets could really be good. But with Mangini, at least you know you wont lose games due to coaching or discipline.

Well personally, I feel that if you add another year of practice as well as a first round pick, and the FA pickups we'll get on top, we can be in good shape this year. I think that our schedual will end up being easier than it seems right now, as I think the NFC East will suck and is overrated, and so on. But on top of that, if Pennington loses out, our QB of the future is Kellen Clemens, and he has a hell of an arm, and him and Coles and Cotch would just be a crazy thought. So I know what your saying, and I got no reason to say against it, I just feel against it. But also....I don't know what Jets fans you know that talk smack lol, I know I dont know any, we know what we had, and what to do

I think you guys should eventually switch to Clemens, once his football IQ goes up a bit and when he gets more experience. Well, about Jet fans talkin smack, basically everyone on their boards, BoSox here, a few Jets fans I know personally, and Matt Chatham.

I was really impressed with Pennington today. He had a good game and if the Jets had a better defense they would have been in it at the end. Mangini is a good coach and I was laughing when everyone was ripping him as head coach before the season. Mangini was a solid coach for the Pats and if you give him a couple of seasons he will have the Jets in good shape.

Yawn, the NBC sports analysts are now praising the Colts defenses as they now rank as one of the elite in the game. Im sorry but after their defense gave up an avg of 180+ rushing yards per game, this game hasnt proven that its a complete 180 and they will be deadly force stopping the run throughout the playoffs

your right but you have to admit that the colts defense was great in this game and its possible they can do the same thing against the ravens

If the Colts think they can out-physical the Ravens then they have another thing coming to them. The 3-4 Ravens D will be all over Manning from the first minute of the game.

the colts only allowed 15 sacks this year , they wont get to him that much , not to mention manning only got touched 12 percent of his drop back, he'll be fine

I'm really happy with the way the Jets fought the Patriots and got some experience in the playoffs. The Patriots executed down the stretch and deserve all the credit for winning that game. I can't help but think that if that pass/fumble isn't batted down, that this game is decided by less than 7 points. If you look at how the Jets receivers lined up for that play, they had both defensive backs blocked upfield for Cotchery had he gotten the throw. Oh well, no point in living with what might have happened.

As it stands, the Patriots are a good, but not great team. I don't like their chances against San Diego.

Manning is notorious for struggling against 3-4 defenses. The crowd also will be crazy as the Colts return to there former home for a playoff game. The speed and power of the Ravens front 7 will get to Manning. It will be another exit for the Colts come sunday.

Yeah, the batted fumble was a big momentum turn on the Jets. They seemed to be able to drive the ball but would always stall in the red zone. If that play doesn't happen, it couldv'e been a totally different ball game, as the Pats really put it away in the late 4th.

As for the Chargers, we're gunna have to win on pure brains n guts. Belichck has to find a way to juggle Gates and Tomlinson, while keeping Rivers off balance (I'd like to see a bit of Mangini's "walk around til the snap" method). Also he needs the O-Line to come up big again and keep tabs on Philips and Merriman.
