I'm just saying pressure will change a hitter. Wait to judge Melky when hes not surrounded by Damon,Giambi,Matsui,Jeter,Arod,Canu,Abreu. See what he puts up for numbers when he is relyed on to produce not to get on and get knocked in.

Those guys werent there bosox. When Melky was doing most of his work, there was no sheff or matsui and cano was down for 6 weeks. There were a couple games that Giambi and ARod missed with various ailments and Damon nearly went on the DL after he missed 5 staright games with that foot. There were times in that yankees lineup when Jeter and Posada were the only regulars starting and Melky was hilariously one of the "big" threats. This season will be different assuming everyone suits up, but the yankee lineup last yr was a mash unit until the trading deadline, when they started to get healthy and added in Abreu.

I think we can all agree that the Yankees could field a much more potent lineup than we did last year. Loretta got a lot of hits but made an helluva lot of outs, too, and when Coco was in the leadoff role he simply sucked to high heaven. And who the hell did we have batting fifth? Not much production there either, and you can throw away Tek's performance because he was terrible even before he got hurt. Gonzales? About as pathetic an offensive machine as they come. This coming season we will have Lugo and Drew (I hope), a rejuvinated Coco and Tek (I hope even more), an experienced Youk and a stready Lowell with Pedroia coming on in surprising fashion. Then, gentlemen, we can really start to compare stats. There should be no excuses on our part unless we get stuck with a Pena-Hinske combo in RF and Coco and Tek just as s***** as they were last year. Then God help us all.

Well Jacko if he is dealt, then we will know what the NYY really think of him. If they deal him the don't see the upside to him like you do. A good eye and patience is nice, but you need a little more.
