With Manny/Drew/Coco needing time off in the season I project WMP will have 30 HR's in a supporting role and close to 90 RBI's. He is gonna give us a good option as a 4th Outfielder. Drew plays 130 games Manny 130 Coco 130 that leaves at least 90+games for WMP plus his DH time for Papi's days off.

I think 100 K in 45 games is lowballing Pena... lol. I'm not sure about you guys, but I don't call him Wily Mo Pena. I call him Wily Mo K-out.

Texas sox fan, have you actually seen him play before? He looks like an abused puppy at the plate. I honestly think that his decision to swing or take a pitch is completely random. He just looks uncomfortable. And thats his strength. Lets not even talk about his lack of Defensive Skills.

His stance is the only thing I see that needs correctiing and maybe that will get done this year. Too far and bends forward on outside pitches. An open stance and a closer foot location clears this up. And he always swings with power. I believe in this guy.

This guy has incredible upside to him......He will improve I do not think 30 is out of reach for this guy.

for 90 games played yes 30 is out of the reach for him , 162 games played would be different , christ 30 HR in 90 games thats someting ortiz would have difficult to do

wow. Wily Mo has a chance at 30HRs in 90games during beer league. In the MLB, not a chance in holy hell.

Texas, I don't know if you are incredibly optimistic or need to put the crack pipe down, but Wily Mo Pena is a disaster in the outfield. That should concern you first and foremost. Have you ever seen this guy play in the field? Believe me I have, and, believe me, it is not a pretty picture. The guy has eight years of pro experience and still cannot track a fly ball. At the plate he has no discipline and all the pitchers have to do is throw him a breaking ball on the outside and he is as done as an overcooked burger. In addition he is a lousy clutch hitter. No Tex, you want to revise you optimistic appraisal of the guy. He is best suited to be a DH on a team willing to take a chance that in two or three years he just might find himself. That is not on our team. We have a great DH already and don't have three years to waste on this guy.::dunno: :dunno: :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

Holy s*** 30 HRS in 90 games? I'm in Holland where weed is legal and can be found anywhere, but I haven't smoked anything yet to make me believe in those numbers!hahaha

if he makes it in to 75-90 games look for .290 BA 12-15 HRS 35-45 RBI and 50+K's.

In all fairness he did pull off a .300 BA last season, maybe it's a sign of things to come, but unless Coco is traded or he gets alot of games in at 1B, hes not going to hit 30HR,if he was that good he would have a starting spot on the team already or other GM's would be beating down Theo's door to try and trade for him.
