Do you just randomly say negative things about Dodger fans? Geez' date=' no wonder why they humiliate you left and right. Really? I don't know the specific stats of Koufax and Drysdale against the Giants, I don't know s*** about the Dodger history? Ask Coco about Ted Williams' numbers against the Yanks.[/quote']

Smart? yes, I know my baseball. To be humiliated by a bunch of loser and miscreants like that is a badge of honor, and to call them your friends speaks very little for you. I don't have to ask Coco about Ted's numbers against the Yanks because he knows enough about Red Sox history to tell me a few stats that could help me. You can apparently do nothing of the sort. I would also like to see if you are as in good a shape as I am when you're 66. Most likely not. How does it feel to have a Red Sox fan know more about your team than you do? Enjoy the game.

Knowing stats of players who retired years before you born does not make you a fan.

No' date=' no, no. Ask him.[/quote']

It wasn't a question, it was a fact. I don't know Jimmy Foxx's home run total in his rookie season...does that make me any less of a fan than somebody else? Being a fan is when you follow a team that you enjoy watching and you don't abandon them when they begin to lose. Typically, real fans aren't bandwagoners who are also fans of multiple teams...

True Bosox, but one would think that a fan of a certain team would know something about the team he roots for. Red Sox fans know their baseball, they know their team and they know much of their history. Dodger fans used to be that way---in Brooklyn. Out here they come in the third inning and leave in the seventh and in between they do nothing but get up and go to the hot dog stand and eat. Ever see a game at Dodger Stadium? It looks like an extention of the freeways out here. Guys passing left and right. For the record, I do support the Dodgers in the NL and will buy a mini-season package of tickets, but the Red Sox, that's my true love.

By Fred's logic, you can't call youself a fan of the team unless you know microscopic stats from millions of years ago.

I understand. I've never been to a game at Dodger Stadium, however I will be this summer. I can see from being in the parks that fans in California are generally less passionate than those of New York and Boston.

Just be grateful you are a Red Sox fan. It took me long enough to find this team when they were in front of me all the time. BTW, as I type this I am wearing my Red Sox jacket, watch and wallet. Kind of silly for a 66 year old man, but rooting for this team makes me feel like a kid again, and sometimes acting like one. Can't wait until I to to Fort Myers for Spring Training in March.

Good news. My wife just came home, about two hours early so I will sign off for the night. Have a great Sunday. Maybe Moose and I will smoke the peace pipe. I want to get along with everyone on this board.

Moose, when I say I am now following the Dodgers in the NL, don't question my commitment and I will not bag on you. I will try to end this pissing contest. Let's see if you can.

I haven't memorized many stats at all. I still call myself a diehard. Thats not really the measuring stick of a fan. It counts' date=' it tells me you care...but other things matter.[/quote']

Yeah, I agree. Some numbers you need to know if you're a real fan...1, 4, 8, 9, 27, 406, 2004. It doesn't really say much if you know specific statistics of every player in the history of the team.

Oooo, sounds like a threat. Your commitment with the Dodgers looks like the last s*** I took. I also heard you're a Mets fan.

Who is this clown over here that thinks being a real fan is about knowing pre WWII stats. A real fan roots for one team.

Thank you very much, Vinny. Freddy just doesn't get it.

I have to say that I completely agree with you on that one. Welcome to talksox.

Thanx for the welcome. Useless trivia doesn't make a fan, living and dying with your team is what makes a fan. I'm so tired of hearing this is my number 2 team and this is my AL team and this is my NL team. A real fan only roots for 1 team and wishes death to all other teams.

I dont wish death on any team. I may wish a lifetime of heartbreak, but never death.

I root for one team, but don't necesarily wish death on other teams...besides Yankees. I enjoy rooting for other individual players and milestones and accomplishments, etc. That and good baseball.

I wish death to the team. Not to the actual people (players, owners, fans, etc.), but I do wish death to the franchise.

Nothing would make me happier if all the other teams were stuck drafting bust after bust every single year.

I'm a red sox fan for life and they're my only team that I consistently root for on a day by day, year by year basis but I also root for the players on my fantasy baseball team. I wouldn't mind seeing the Cubs win a world series one of these years because of my grandparents (who passed away) were diehard Cubs fans and I grew up watching them a little bit too.

Well fantasy stats aside of course.

Vinny, the point is you should know a little about the background of your team. A real fan does root for one team, but can follow another one if they play in a different league. And calling me a clown is no way to get on this board and get along with people.

I said I follow the Dodgers in the NL; never said I was diehard fan of theirs The Red Sox are my first and only real team that I am devoted to, but living in the LA area it almost forces you to at least follow a team in your area. You can't escape it. It wasn't a threat but you seem to want to carry this pissing contest on and so be it. As far as the last s*** you took, if you know what it looked like speaks volumes for how fu$%ed up you are. And since I think your Vinny friend may be another intruder from that horsebleep website you post on I'll keep an eye on him as well. We;ve already had to dispose of those creeps, maybe he's one of them, maybe not. Again, it is going to be tit for tat with me until you back off and let this thing die.

I am a hardcore Sox fan and a proud member of RSN! I'm even representing them in Europe. You should see all the looks I get with my Boston hat and red jacket! My second favorite team is whoever is playing the NYY:thumbsup:

You wish other team deaths, huh? Well, you just gave yourself away and the only reason I don't call you out is that I'm not 100% sure where you came from. I know you made all kinds of statements but I also notice that you never said what team you root for. Let me guess. You are a Dodger fan and you came from that horsebleep board. We'll know soon enough if you are. You guys always give yourselves away. Just for your info, it is very possible to follow more than one team. It is impossible to love more than one. Just to set you straight fast, I love the Red Sox to the point of paranoia, pure and simple. I live in the LA area and follow the local teams----I despise the Angels and keep up with the Dodgers. I would like to see them get into the WS against my Red Sox and get the living s*** kicked out of them. Capice now?::harhar: :harhar: :harhar: :harhar: :harhar:
