You cant deny that hes funny. Anyone have funny manny stories? I remember one last year when the team was in the clubhouse watching the Yankees, Jeter hit a triple and only manny was clapping.

He he, i just remembered another one. At the yankee game, probally around April-May, Foulke came in to reliieve when we were blowing them away and A-Rod hit a homer to the Monster. Some idiot Yankee fan took the ball danced around and threw it on the field so Manny went to it picked it up and put it in his back pocket. It was awesome.

My friends, maybe I should not be greedy but I guess where the Red Sox are concerned I am very much so. I have been thrilled with the Drew and Lugo signings, but I want more. I want Manny to stay and bat fourth and give us as good an attack as there is in the league. A Lugo, Youkalis, Ortiz, Ramirez, Drew, Lowell, Tek, Coco and Pedroia might not sound like a murderer's row to you but it sounds potent enough to me, especially if we sign Matsuzaka and have a solid rotation to go with a good hitting team. We have to stay on the Daisuke signing, keep Manny and get that closer we need. Having signed Drew and Lugo we now have some chips to trade for a closer. What do you guys think?:D :D :D :D :D

You would have been better off not signing Drew and Lugo. I guarantee at the end of the season you all will regret those signings.

At the end of the day, we regret getting to know you. Good day.

I'm pretty sure Manny will still be with us on opening day - we go through the same drama every offseason

Well, the Dodgers just signed Luis Gonzalez - looks like Manny's gonna be staying here once again

you probably wanted them to sign Gonzalez and Nixon.

I don't know about Pudge but Linda is a Dodger troll and probably bitter at Drew leaving the Dodgers in the lurch. Bad for them and good for us. J.D. is going to love hitting in Fenway Park. He knows how to go the other way and can use the Green Monster to his advantage and though he has power does not swing for the fences all the time, and that means with all the room in right center field he can get his share of two baggers, and he's smart enough to turn on the inside hard one and also take advantage of the Pesky Pole. As far as Lugo is concerned he has always liked hitting at Fenway and I figure his 15-16 homers would more than cover for Gonzo's nine, and while Nixon hit only seven this past season Drew ought to be good for between 25-30, and those figures translates into a higher RBI total and probably a better batting average for both of them. What's not to like?:D :D

so let me get this straight. Line drive hitter Lugo will set a new career high in a place where line drives are doubles and pop ups are homers? And JD Drew will hit 30HRs in a tougher lefty hitting park than dodger stadium when last yr he only managed 20? Thats bold.

OK, suppose you are right. A lot of doubles leads to a good OBP and batting average and maybe some extra RBI's. You may have a point but all I know is that Lugo was hitting over 300 with 12 homers when the Rays traded him last summer. Drew? Well I'm a little more prepared for this one. I saw J.D. close to a dozen times last summer hit the ball to left center for long outs and doubles. He can use the Monster well and that would mean more homers and RBI's because Drew can go the other way and do it well.

Hey, my friend, what are you trying to do, rain on my parade?

Fred, he's a Yankee fan on a Sox forum. That answer your question? Of course he's trying to rain on your parade, it's the only reason he's here.

Lugo has a career avg of .330 in 28 games played at Fenway Park, setting himself up for a good year

is that more of an indictment on his ability to hit in fenway or the ability for the sox pitchers to get him out? Remember, his best yrs were in 2005 and 2006 when the sox staff was awful.

Am I getting deja vu?

Last year, werent Yankee fans telling us how Lowell & Loretta will have down years because theyre playing in Fenway?

Posted
As far as NYY fans go, everyone will have down years playing in Fenway. Thats just to be expected, just like when Damon signed with NY, most people wanted him to blow out his achilles in ST LOL
