Depends whether or not someone does one of those things chronically. Lowe hasn't changed at all. Lugo had one isolated incident. I'm not condoning what he did' date=' but people can learn from their mistakes. I think you say its hypocrisy when that happens.[/quote']

just saying that everyone has their warts. Throwing people away because of their extracurriculars then accepting a guy who beat the s*** out of his wife is the peak of hypocrisy.

well, what do you think is worse?

Beating your wife or skirtchasing and boozing.

The worst thing Lowe did wasn't that he had an affair. It was that he had an affair with her.

She has a squarer jaw than most men.

beating your wife once is once too many.

agreed. But apparently cheating on your wife and drinking is worse, although nobody is physically harmed. The next time I think about boozing and whoring around I should just go and give my wife a header off the windshield of my car, and then deny it.

also ORS, you are a smart guy. By the time a domestic incident is exposed to the public, the perpetrator is usually very experienced if you know what I mean. One time offenders are VERY unlikely.

Oh, so now you've graduated to sociological studies of the Sox players. Doctor, sociologist, what's next, Jacko of all trades?

Like I said, what he did isn't defensible, but there's nothing to suggest it wasn't an isolated incident. Your conjecture that he's habitual is unwarranted.

Ed, quite a surprise seeing some moral high ground sought by a guy that tells another guy his wife does anal on the internet.

The bottom line is that he was very inconsistent throughout his years here and the FO did not think he was worth the money to bring him back. On a side note, he also had some off the field issues and it was not an isolated incident as there seemed to be multiple problems.

are you seriously going to sit back and say that a guy who gets caught smashing his wife's head into a windshield is likely not a repeat offender? Open your eyes ORS. Domestic violence is hardly ever a 1 time event. It is a vicious cycle.

Tension building - Incident - Making up - Calm - Tension building etc.

so you can also say that Lugo was signed off of a career yr 2 yrs ago and a great start to the season last yr. On a side note, he is a spouse abuser.

Moose, if you had a clue or were a fan of the Red Sox you wouldn't come out with such a ridiculous post as that. History as shown the Dodger move to Los Angeles to have been a great one, but at the time I was disappointed they left. It doesn't bother me anymore, not a twit. In fact, since I live in the LA area I will probably get a mini-season ticket package to see a few games. One more important thing than that, and never forget what I'm telling you for a second. When you root for the Red Sox you have the best of everything. We have the best fans, the best baseball city in the country, a most fabled of all ballparks, a rich history of success and failure, and an enduring love for a team that becomes part of our very being. You could never understand that because you don't root for the Red Sox but ask any Red Sox fan on this board and you will get the same answer. Now you ought to feel better because Jason Schmidt signed with the Dodgers so count your blessings.

SBF, I have been steadfastly in support of you. But if you continue to respond to their inane ********, you will only sink deeper and it will be a problem to the whole board. You do not need to justify anything here. I know you are a sox fan.

Well whoopty do. You are capable of coming out with a gem. Absolutely. A man who strikes his wife is as low down a person as can be created.

And a Cardinals fan and a Dodgers fan.

You just need to be filled in on Fred's background, and I am not telling Fred his wife does anal. I simply stated Linda is into Anal.

ORS, that was probably a one time thing. The guy is from the Dodger Blues site and all you have to do is just log in there and see the titles of the posts and you will understand what these trolls are all about. Not an ounce of class in them.

On to something more important my friend. What's your take on the Drew and Lugo signings? Are you optimistic as I am? I really think we have solidified our lineup and improved offensively in two key spots. Expensive? Yes, but that was the market this year.

Fred, he is still one step up from you on the food chain. Tell me, have you updated your Megan's Law home page?

Fred, this is the last time I will side with you if you continue to egg them on. Let it go and they will eventually disappear. Lack of stimulation will cause them to diminish. Kinda like a clitoris.

Right Jackson, but it would be so much easier if our moderator could get rid of these bums likety split.

Fred has no clue what a clitoris is, we all know he is into boys.

I've got life experience that says it can be a one time event. I saw my Dad get physical with my mom once and never again. We've talked about. It was an isolated incident.

Open your eyes, Jacko. The fact that repeat offenders exist doesn't make it so for all violators. I happen to think our country's maxim about due process, or hell, at least waiting for a second accusation, are good things to live by before making assumptions about people with something as serious as assaulting their spouse.

waiting for a 2nd accusation is a way to make more women end up dead.

As long as they behave professionally on the field, I really don't care what they do off the field. They are not my friends or co-workers.

Thank you 700. That is what I wanted to hear. Lets not pretend that sox fans or any fans of any team actually care about what they do off the field. A homerun or a strikeout at the right time will forgive anything.

That is some grade A hyperbole right there.

...says the person of the team who had 2+ people involved in steroid allegations?

Which is CHEATING??

and the sox are not guilty? Cmon now. No positive drugs tests on either side remember, they are all equally suspect (just 2 admitted to it thus far).

Tell that to people who deal with this on a daily basis.

Oh get off the high horse you clown. We aren't discussing the seriousness of domestic violence, because I've already agreed that it is a heinous act. I only take issue with your conjecture about Lugo continuing to beat his wife despite absolutely no evidence to support it. It is possible? Yes. Can we say with certainty, like you do, that he is still doing it? No.
