this has to be one of the dumbest moes I have ever seen. The guy had 3 yrs 33 mil left on the deal, and NOBODY will give him that much $$ again. He is guaranteed to be on the DL for a third of every season and I dont think he would be any better than Nixon in RF.

yeah a guy who drove in 100 runs' date=' wont be any better then Nixon. Nice research.[/quote']

He has Nixons penchant for injury without his desire. He doesnt have Big Papi or Ryan Howard power, which means that his HRs are going to be hurt by the field. He only hit 20 last yr, put him in the fens and you have a guy who may hit 15-18, if he stays healthy, which he has only been able to do for 2 seasons of his career.

Dodger Stadium is a much better pitchers park then Fenway' date=' What are you even talking about.[/quote']

not for a lefty. For a righty, Fenway is a pitchers graveyard, but not many stadiums have a 380 foot mark 30 feet from the right field line. Hence, Fenway is a big time pitchers park against lefties.

Drew wasn't worth 11 million when he signed with the Dodgers before, and I don't think he's worth it now. That having been said, he's a very talented player on both sides of the baseball and he's worth keeping an eye on.

I'm sure whoever advises Drew was telling him that this is an extremely thin market for hitters and thought he'd get a better deal. Personally, I don't believe he will because of his injury history and the fact that he's never lived up to expectations.

If the Sox sign him (which I'm not opposed to) let's hope there's a backup plan in place.

I think the Sox were interested in Drew IF they had moved Manny-- which of course they didn't do.

I live in the LA area and saw Drew many times this past summer. He played 146 games and drove in 100 runs and was their best clutch hitter in the stretch drive. Drew would be a natural for the Red Sox with his OBA, clutch hitting and run producing ability. He also hits for a good average. The Dodgers lost a very key player, but many of you may not know this but they have one helluva GM in Ned Colletti. He won't wait long to replace Drew because the guy has already established himself as one of the best in the business.
