Pretty sick game for Jeter. Like Youk of the Nation said, it's kind of weird how Jeter hits like 10 homers all season, then has one in what seems to be every game of the playoffs. Regardless, he's a great post-season player.

Game 2 Info:

Series: Yankees, 1-0

Date: Thursday, October 4th, 2006

First Pitch: 1:00pm ET

Venue: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York

TV: ESPN

Starting Pitchers:

Gotta take the Yankees. They just have too much experience for the Tigers and the Tigers haven't been all too great for the past months including dropping their division lead to Minnesota.

The Tigers have been AWFUL for about 2 months now. That big lead they opened up in the first couple of months of the season allowed them to hang on to atleast the wild card. The 1 major question mark the Yankees have is Randy Johnson and they have him matched up against what might be the worst post season pitcher of all time in Kenny Rogers. The Yankees should sweep this series but I'll give the Tigers a game. Yankees in 4.

Agreed. I gave the Tigers 1 as well, but I definately wouldn't be surprised to see a sweep.

Game was Rained Out. Will be played today at 1:00 on ESPN. Then after the game they head out to Detroit and play the rest of the series without an off day.

...I've been exhausted the past few days, so when I got home Tuesday I dozed off with about 5 minutes left in the YES pre-game and woke up 2 pitches into the top of the first. DId they show the player introductions and Tino throwing out the first pitch? I've noticed in recent years FOX never shows the ceremonial first pitch, which really annoys the s*** out of me.

Ahem this is why Arod was pushed down to 6th in the order for the playoffs. Bases loaded, 2 outs in the 1st inning... Arod K's on 3 pitches

And that is why he is called

Verlander doesn't hang FBs. He throws smoke. Kudos to JD. I can admit when I was wrong, and I was wrong about Damon thus far. Even if his presence probably doesn't put us in the playoffs this year, he's putting the Yankees over the top right now. That's not good, no matter how you slice it.

I got a feeling we are going to see a better Coco Crisp in 07. He had a hot spring training followed with a good start to the season in 5 games (2 Doubles, Triple, 2 SBs, 6 Runs). That 50 game layoff & lingering injury afterwards really affected his play

damon has been their mvp for real

the lead off catylist and the guy who covers ground in centerfield

hes been playing with bone spurs in his foot and it hasnt slowed him down

i thought he maybe done with all these nagging injuries and in my opinion the use of growth hormones cause his head is waaaaaaaaay bigger than it was when he was a rookie

he fooled me and the front office

who says the sox didnt make the playoffs

every fuking team left is using red sox players in the hunt for october glory

I think we are all hopeful that his performance this year was injury related, because it has been a blunder thus far.

I'm starting to feel like I'm losimg my personal integrity. I'm sitting here watching this game, and there's f***ing Giambi. Huge and sweaty and all roided (sorry, HGH'd) up. It is mentioned over and over again, and nobody defends him, nobody denies it, Sox fans, Yankees fans, nobody.

This is a guy who has been pumping himself full of roids since the early-mid 90's, he came off them last year and was horrible. Now, he's f***ing Babe Ruth again ripping balls all over the place, his eyes buldging out of his head, veins pumping full of HGH.

I'm just sick of it. It's one thing to say that we can't know who was on them BEFORE the whole BALCO scandal, but to have someone right before your eyes that is using them and really helping his team compete is just sad.
