s***. I'm blacked out - well, not blacked out but my MLB package for some reason isn't offering this game. I like Murphy so far - was it a bomb? Keep the scores coming in.

I'll watch for updates during the Michael Vick assault on Tampa Bay. :)

It's great to see Pedroia get a vote of confidence from Francona. I still can't imagine not wanting BOTH Loretta and Pedroia next year. I mean, Cora is somewhat valuable, but Loretta has such great ABs, as does Pedroia. With injuries and such doesn't it make sense to at least think about keeping them both, especially since Pedroia can play SS if needed.

except Loretta probably wants a long-term deal, the last of his career, especially coming off an all-star season. I'd say the FO is gonna keep either Gonzo or Loretta and Gonzo seems more likely to me.

Well, the Sox showed signs of life so far, and at least seem to be playing for pride. I'm proud of these guys for coming into NY and not just rolling over. It's the small things now I guess.

Also, Florida completely fell apart in the tenth. Going into the bottom of the inning leading 7-3, they gave up five runs, two of them scoring on errors. One by Willingham for the winning run and one by Hanley.

Amazing.

ho-hum Pedroia continues to show signs of life as the hitter I have heard/seen about in the minors. Murphy's swing is connecting faster than I tought it would against big league pitching. Id like to see Snyder kept on next season as the long man/spot starter, and Bryan Corey at least deserves an invite to spring training.
