Hinske has been batting something like .314 at Fenway lifetime anyway, and in 39 games too so its fairly substantial

Hinske was the only bright spot to todays game. He even got the crowd to chant his name by his last AB. I wouldnt mind seeing the sox resign him and loose Nixon

 

He's signed through next season

 

This basically ensures so far that the 2007 outfield has Manny, Coco, Wily Mo Pena, & Eric Hinske who can play across the outfield

 

Add that Hinske bats left-handed, this deal has dropped significantly any chances of acquiring Trot

Pauley or Gibbard or Snyder will bot do better then Johnson. Look at a great young pitcher like LEster and see what he becomes without Tek. Now look at these Average to bad young pitchers and guess how they will do without Tek.
