Sorry for the incredibly early start to the thread, but I need to go to sleep soon, and I won't have a chance to make a thread tomorrow because I need to get to Logan 3 hours before I leave for Florida on a plane at 12. The game's at 1:20, so you can see how I need to make it now if I'm going to continue the gamethread tradition. Anywayyyyyyyyy, the last game for the Sox was great. A nice offensive explosion, a great pitching performance from Wells and Snyder (despite the 11 hits, but that's an upgrade from what had been previously going on), and some great defense. I'm hoping that this is a sign of good things to come, as we'll need all the fortune we can get as Jason Johnson goes out on the mound for this game. Keep up the heated bats, pick up Johnson with our defense, and Johnson needs to go 5+ and just give us a chance to win. The resurgence of our bats should help. Go Sox!

I was trying to think of some funny mojo to post. So I though "Benson" hmmm. Benson and Hedges is a cigarette brand. So then I thought, OK, Choke is in there somewhere because cigarettes can make you choke. So I went out to google to look for some Benson and Hedges smoker choking on a cigarette picture to post.

I google-imaged the word Choke and found this to be one of the top results.

... and thought that was a better image than anything I could have come up with. Sure, it has nothing to do with todays game, but it made me :) .

Is there a reason Snyder isn't getting these starts? I know it's valuable to have an effective long-man, but not at the expense of waving the white flag every 5 days. Oh yeah, and it doesn't make sense to use him at the end of blow outs, like last night, because he could be useful today.

My take on Johnson...

He sucks the first time through the order.

He is decent the second time through the order.

He's 50/50 the third time through the order.

5 innings/3-4 runs. Not very good.

Then Tavarez and Seanez make things worse in the 6th.

We'll give up at least 5 runs today so we need the bats to keep going.
