There has been reports that javy will clear waivers and the red sox will pick him up. it is just a rumour though.

According to multiple sources the Sox have inquired on the availability of Lopez. Baltimore may be willing to give him up for a low level prospect if Boston pays the remaining 2.7 million left on his salary.

it also says that javy wants to be an everyday starter which i doubt will be possible when tek comes back.

This is going to sound weird, but I woke up this morning with thoughts of Javy Lopez. The Sox needed an offensive catcher, one who will clear waivers. Lopez is the perfect man to fill the void.

On his desire to be a starter-- 6 weeks is pretty much the rest of the season, and he could be VERY useful after that.

He'd be much happier I imagine as a bench player on a contender than on the Orioles.... plus he gets 4-6 weeks of regular playing time and he's a free agent after the season.

IF this happens-- A perfect move in my opinion.

I think you might need to go cold turkey from baseball for a few days.

I don't think he was a nuisance. I'd chalk it up to lack of playing time, which he'll get here.

Javy the new #5 hitter?

This season (11 games) he has a .289 avg. Overall, he holds a career .298 avg in that slot, so just a proposed lineup Id like to see

1. Youkilis

2. Loretta

3. Ortiz

4. Ramirez

5. Lopez

6. Pena

7. Lowell (Tito put him back where he has excelled the best this season)

8. Crisp

9. Gonzalez

javy lopez is garbage, his contract year was a fluke (roids probably) since then he's dropped off the face of the planet.
