Anyone have a scouting report on this guy (what he throws and why he has sucked thus far)

He's coming back from a blood clot injury. His fastball isn't where it was last year, though it is getting back there.

Yeah I've watched him his entire career. He's a guy who came up with all the stuff to be an Ace, and just never had the confidence to pound the strike zone. The biggest knock against him is that he nibbles too much, and falls behind in too many counts, which ends in him giving up big hits. He has a low 90's fastball, but he can rev it up to 95. He has a good slider, and a decent change and curve. Like I said he has the tools to be a good pitcher, but he has no confidence in his stuff.

What else does he throw besides a fastball?? I guess whats most important "IF" he is going to Fenway....ground ball or fly ball pitcher??

I'd buy into that if he were good last year...but he sucked then, too. And that's in the freaking National League. He's going to suck harder facing the likes of Jeter, ARod, Glaus, Wells, and Giambi 19 games a year each.

I heard on WEEI today that he actually is one of the losingest (not a real word) pitchers in the big leagues over the last three seasons, or something crazy like that. I do remember what you are talking about though, I remember when a lot of people thought he was going to be pretty good, but he struggled to stay afloat in the s***** market of Pittsburgh. I also remember hearing that he was a nibbler. A nibbler in Fenway watches balls go far far away over the monster. I was really against Theo getting into the wells, maddux arms races.

He's going to be much more of a pitching cancer in the dead heat of Arlington ball park. Fenway Park's status as a hitter's park is not panning out this season, its actually ranked lowest in HRs allowed

Fenway has a low HR park factor, but it is still a hitters park due to the monster. It just means that less of those hits are dingers.

Yeah. I also know that Jason Johnson has the worst winning percentage of all major league pitchers in the last 30 years or something
