This is like Michael Jackson calling for harsher penalties on sex crimes against children. Pure irony. Thanks for a morning laugh.

Based on what? I have made maybe 1 or 2 stupid posts total. Difference is I don't make a habit of it like 700 does.

For you stupid posts are not merely a habit, they are a certainty.

Yankees crush the D-rays 16-1.

3rd place cafe for the sox?

This is the typical post. Nothing more than petty baiting. It's childish and idiotic. Thanks for providing an example so quickly.

Heh...but changing the name of this forum to 'second place cafe' when the Yankees fell to second place in the middle of the season was, according to most of you, hilarious. This is almost as funny as how pathetically some of you have taken the fact that the Yankees were, far and away, the better team this year.

Honestly, what's happened to the Red Sox this year could not have happened to a nicer group of people.

Yes, the Red Sox are awful people. How well do you know them?

I wasn't talking about the team.
Oh, so you were referring to Red Sox fans. You are glad that the awful Red Sox fans had to endure watching their team lose. Those awful Red Sox fans like that little kid with cancer that sings the national anthem on Opening Day. Maybe you are generalizing a bit. Also, maybe you should consider that people, even nice people, do not react well to gloating, baiting and ball-breaking. Go crawl back under your rock with the rest of the Yankee fan vermin.

The difference is that I expect people to react harshly or in a nasty manner when I bait them or break their chops. I don't whine about how terrible you bad people are. Most of my arguments and skirmishes are with other Red Sox fans on these boards. You need to stop your whining. The Yankee fans on these boards are not smart enough, nor do they argue well enough to generate a really hot argument, so get over yourselves.

It's a Red Sox board. That's what happens. I would expect Yankee boards to have "3rd Place Cafe" for Red Sox sub-forums. Yankee fans can gloat over there, do it all you want. But when you gloat on a Red Sox board, whether or not this is subconscious or not, is to antagonize us.

I agree in that some Sox fans are a little too disgruntled for their own good, but more than half of the bitterness is fueled by unnecessary gloating from Yankee fans that are doing so in the wrong place.

The only reason One Red Seat responded the way he did to J_P is because those are the only things he ever says or contributes to this board...meaningless crap that this board would be better off without. If a more respected Yankee fan (like yourself, but I guess not in the eyes of some others, which is kind of weird IMO) said it in an obviously joking way, then I, along with others (I hope), would take it less seriously and POSSIBLY, even snickering once or twice. J_P has a track record of antagonistic, meaningless, stupid crap that comes out of his own glory hole with nothing positive. That's why he got the response he did.

I think she was referring more to the few Sox fans here who seem more intent on the Yankees losing than the Red Sox winning, and she has a point.

Perhaps the Red Sox's collapse after the All-Star break was a good reminder to the rabid Anti-Yankee fan base that we need to pay more attention to the Sox and stop caring so much about the Yankees.

Lay off Optimist, too. She rocks.

She's a Yankee fan so she's fair game. I'd give the same treatment to Mother Theresa is she was a Yankee fan on this site. Don't worry Optimist can take it, unlike some of the more hysterical Skankee fans. Also, she quoted me in her signature for a few weeks, which I took as a compliment.

SOTK has it right. I was responding to J_P and J_P only. On the last page he said there's no need for idiotic posts, I noted the irony, and he asked for an example. It didn't take long for him to provide one, so I drew attention to it.

If you will note, I didn't make the Second Place Cafe name, nor did I come out explicitly in favor of it. I did defend the fact that it is the prerogative of the owner, a Sox fan, to do that if he wishes and whining by the Yankee fans about it was misplaced -- can't change the fact that in the end it is and will always be Sox board.

Where was this example you found? Because I said the red sox are in danger of falling into 3rd place? So what? Grasping for straws there sir.

You are so goddamned blind. It's quite funny.

It's true. Your posts are either arguing with us trying to salvage any positive reputation that you have here, or they're talking about how the Yankees are winning and that the Sox or Pats suck.

Who cares what I think of the Pats. I'm a dolphin fan, I have no credibilty in football anymore.:(

Are you really this dense? Well, actually, I guess I'm not surprised. Here, see if you can follow....

700 posts: "Thuuuuuuhhh Yankeeees Loooooose" -- A factual dig at the Yankees and Sterling

You post: That's idiotic

Then you post: "3rd place cafe for the Sox?" -- A factual dig at the Sox

Still don't see it? His comment and your comment are no different. According to you, we shouldn't encourage idiotic posts, and I'm all for it. I guess that means you won't be posting any more. Can't say you'll be missed.

After his gem tonight' date=' it's up to 5.01 .[/quote']He loses the ERA title to Johnson by .01. Too bad Johnson is not making his final start. I think Torre is deliberately sitting him to preserve his sterling 5.00 ERA. Here's some more stats for you: Johnson $17 million Beckett $4.3 million.

Could be worse. We could have given up two talented, young, major league ready players for him. And one of them could have thrown a no-hitter. I can't imagine what giving up that kind of talent for a guy who can't keep a basbeball in the park would be like.

No, Joe isn't that petty. He didn't even know jeter have a 20 game hitting streak, you think he knows RJ's ERA? And even if he does, he's not going to deliberately sit him and mess up his playoff rotation just so he can perserve the 5 ERA. He's just not likethat.

Yeah only 4.3 million, lets conveniently leave out the boatload of talent you gave up to get Way Backett. Hanley with 2 more homers tonight.
