Lucky the Angels didn't get more that inning. Lots of hard hit balls and a break at second base. I really hope Torre tries a little harder to win this game than the one on Tuesday. Meaning, seeing Farnsworth in the 8th would be a welcome site.

I thought the facial hair ban came in after the Munso/Jackson days. Maybe it's faulty memory but I thought that Mattingly got reprimanded at least once for length of hair, etc.

On Munsons Yankeeography I remember hearing Munson complaining about the ban on facial hair and Steinbrenner budged on allowing just the stache. Mattingly was reprimanded for the length of his hair.

He only had to take one of the 5 games, but he doesn't get all the blame for himself. He was starting out deep in the hole pitching the "ultimate Loser" and the rookie in the double header. Theo put him into an 0-2 hole and Tito took it from there.
