I just thought I would put this out there. Here is the list Jayson Stark says is likely to be traded.

So who is going to get traded?

Too early to answer that question with any certainty. But all of these players will almost certainly be out there (or are already):

Pitchers: Jeff Weaver, Rodrigo Lopez, Bruce Chen, John Thomson, Jason Johnson, Kyle Lohse, Victor Santos, Kip Wells, Oliver Perez, Odalis Perez, Glendon Rusch, Ramon Ortiz, Jeremy Affeldt, Elmer Dessens, Roberto Hernandez, Salomon Torres, Damaso Marte, Chris Reitsma, Rudy Seanez, Joe Borowski.

Hitters: Craig Wilson, Jose Guillen, Juan Pierre, Julio Lugo, Aubrey Huff, Shannon Stewart, Rondell White, Mark Grudzielanek, Reggie Sanders, Tony Graffanino, Matt Stairs, Jay Payton, Bobby Kielty, David Dellucci, Jeff Conine, Kevin Millar, Jeromy Burnitz.

guys in bold are the only ones who are somewhat decent

That's when Perez was 4-3 with a 2.81 ERA in late July. (2004)

Now? His ERA is pushing 7, and he no longer strikes out batters. Throw in the fact that he makes 7 million annually, and you can throw him in the pile where no one gives a s***.

Oliver Perez, too.

Kyle Lohse is a little risky for my liking. He blew up so bad early this season the Twins sent him down and gave Boof Bonser some starts

id rather Loshe than Snyder. Loshe could be had for a decent prospect (Chris Smith?), so even if i didnt work out, it wouldnt be a big deal. He looked really good against Boston the other day, and they said he had more speed on his fastball than he did at the begining of the year when he was getting shelled.

Oliver Perez would be a good low risk pickup. But for me to do it, I only wanna give up nothing more then a A ball 'spect. If we could get a pitcher under 30 for a A ball prospect, I would do it right away.

you won't get him for an A ball prospect.

Hes still at a young enough age where hes making little money and is still talented enough to turn things around. why would the pirates trade someone like that?

He had an ERA of 2.58 last year with the Mets and has an ERA of 2.35 this year. A very solid veteran reliever with a career ERA of 3.30. Even though his 41, he still seems to pitch well.

He would DEFINETELY be a good guy to pick up, as he could help with our 7th inning relief work.

Seanez had a 2.69 ERA last year, and a 3.33 the year before that. Just remember that when we're talking about someone DEFINITELY being a good guy to pick up.

Middle relievers tend to give up runs and they tend to not be able to shut the door or else they would be closers or starters. I think between Seanez, MDC, JVB, Timlin and Hansen (by the end of the year) we will have a more than suitable middle relief corps.

I can't think of many teams out there that have MRs that consistently shut the door... perhaps CWS, DET, ANA, SD, LAD, NYM count but its not like those teams are putting catfish hunter out there.

dont look now but Seanez is actually turning it around. 1.64 ERA in May, 3.12 ERA in June.
Mayhbe some team will look at these numbers and take him off of our hands. I get sick to my stomach whaen I see him on the mound. He's an old POS. It was a very bad signing.

are you guys talking about the same oliver perez who's era has inflated over 6? i've watched 5 of his games this season and he's only had one where he has shown anything resembling 2003. the kid is simply lost out there. he has no command of the strike zone, he's wild as hell and his mechanics have changed since 03. he still K's a good amount of batters but that's because he still has the great stuff.

i really wouldn't consider him low risk anymore. plus, pits would not give him up. they are going to send him down to AAA and fix him up.
