Still one of the most dominant pitching performances I've ever seen...he's made one mistake. What are you, new?
I've just seen a few more games than you have. He's throwing a beautiful game, but not one of the most dominating games that I have ever seen. Not yet. Maybe after 9 I'll change my opinion.

Even with the Ks, consider:

Schilling hasnt allowed a runner past second. Santana has allowed two. Schilling hasnt given up an EB hit, Santana? Two. ER? Schilling 0, Santana 1.

Both are dominant but the numbers speak for themselves.

The only game that I've seen that's been better is Pedro when he struck out 14 (I think) in '99 (again, i think) against the Yankees.

Thank God that Timlin came off the DL today becuase I think I would throw-up a little in my mouth if we had to turn this over to Tavarez, Seanez, ect... in the 8th.

Reminds me of the box they used to have in the Globe the days after Pedro pitched with the # of runners reaching each base and such.

He threw a 1 hit 17 strikeout game against the '99 Champ Yankees. He also beat the Yanks and Clemens with a complete game 2-0 shutout in Yankee stadium in 2000.

We need another run as the Homer bug-a-boo bites Schilling once again.

I would have liked a splitter there, not a high fastball.

This really is an amazing game. Bud Selig can keep his juiced up ball, this is a classic old school battle.
