Yup, Pauley is in the pen for tonight. I have to say both pitchers are really getting squeezed.

Lester looks like he's overthrowing his fastballs.

That cutter/slider looks good though.

Hey Loretta, catch the f***ing ball.

cmon easy there now. Did you even notice that as the ball was going into his glove, Ian kinsler's feet slid into Loretta. Thus shifting Loretta's balance to hold on to the ball.

He should have been out of the inning 14 pitches ago. Now he's over 50 and not done with 2 innings. That good defense we were seeing lots of earlier this year has gone on hiatus.

Yeah, but that's a play he's got to make, especially with the kid on the mound.

Maybe a bit over the top, but you know what I'm trying to say.

hows lester looking?

Getting squeezed, but showing relative poise despite getting a big out just now on Texiera. He's got jitters but stuff wise hes doing ok.

His back was facing Kinsler at the time, sure its just frustrating to see but he has been a very steady defender this season for us. He's no rent-a-wreck

Yeah, unless he gets some really easy innings coming up, he'd be lucky to go 5. He was getting really squeezed though so I wouldn't be dissappointed if he only went 4.

Agreed.

I hope he can get a few easy innings now, right now he'll be lucky to get through 5.

He has to get in a better grove, throw more strikes, reduce his pitch count and go at least 5 or 6. Four innings is no help for this staff with a DH coming up tomorrow.

Edit: Now he's doing it. Two outs four pitches.

Did anyone else with MLB extra innings just have it shut off on you? right after gonzo got out it went to commercial and now it says "this program not available in your area" . I hope this retards fix this!

Pauley is there for LRP. And, both can be optioned down for fresh arms after tonight (or, after the first game tomorrow).

Its his major league debut, I'm more than willing to issue him a free pass on pitch count especially considering the way he was getting squeezed earlier in this game.

Speaking of fresh arms, did anyone hear Terry's answer about sending Hansen down. In the last part of his answer, he said that "he is ready to contribute at the ML level." Does that mean that he will be coming back up to stay soon?

Isn't there a minimum amount of time down (like 5 days) before you can be called back up? Either way, if he's going to be a relief pitcher, he needs to be up soon learning how to pitch at this level.

I think it’s 10 days unless the recall is due to another player put on the DL. But what about JVB? He deserves another shot.
