3 Way Trade Possibility?

No source, but have heard a possibility of this trade between the Yankees, Mets and A's.

 

The A's would trade away Barry Zito to the Mets, and Jay Payton to the Yankees.

 

The Mets would trade Lastings Milledge to the A's.

 

The Yankees would trade a low-level prospect to the A's.

 

A's get: Milledge, prospect for Zito, Payton

 

Mets get: Zito for Milledge

 

Yanks get: Payton for Low-level prospect.

I think they would. Minaya seems to have no interest in the future and the Mets pitching doesn't look to deep.

Milledge is the real deal and even Minaya would not trade him for Zito who is a FA at the end of the year. Besides Cliff Floyd sucks right now and Milledge might even replace him at some point this year.

Jay Payton would probably hate that deal. Once Sheffield gets back and the Yanks realize he is no better than Crosby or Cabrera what then? He goes to the bench and gets angry. I can't believe Cashman would trade a prospect for Jay Payton.

I think this has more of a possibility of coming to the forefront than a lot of the other ridiculous things we've heard. Has anyone ever noticed that when a Yankee goes down, Yankee fans and NY papers throw out the most RIDICULOUS possible scenarios? I can't wait till Giambi goes down and they suggest that the Yanks go for Pujols. It never ceases to amaze me.

 

Andrew Siciliano was in for Jim Rome the other day and compared it to you getting stood up by your prom date and your mom suggesting you call Heidi Klum. It cracks me up.

 

The Yanks have already depleted most of their farm system, they don't have much higher than a mid-range prospect at best.
