Before the 133 pitch game, shill's ERA was 1.29. Since the 133 pitch outing, his ERA is over 7. I am not saying one thing has to do with the other, because they played different opponents---but it is certainly interesting!

If a 133 pitch game that happened two weeks ago is still bothering Schilling, there's bigger health questions that need to be raised.

Could be---i am not saying that it is related. I just thought that it was an interesting statistic, that's all!

Before last night he went 6IP 6H 3 ER, and 7 ip 8 hits 3 runs.

I dont see the problem.

Did he have a rough time last night? Sure. But the stats dont prove your theory...

ESPN.com player cards are free, they have stats and junk, give it a whirl sometime. ;)

i doubt that that outing has anything to do with it. Theres no set limit of 100 pitches, a guy like schilling can probaly throw an extra amount of pitches, granted 130 is alot, but im sure it doesnt have much effect if any after a couple weeks

Mtbykr led off the thread by pointing out Curt Schilling's numbers before and after his 133 pitch outing. TheKilo followed up by arguing that an outing from two weeks ago shouldn't still be an issue. Since then Mtbykr, Dana Kieker and Rdxmbnt have each posted.

 Now we need Jerry Remy to join to do color commentary.

I don't know if you can point to one game, but Schilling has had some high pitch counts early in the season and collectively, considering his age, that could create a fatigue factor.

But, as you know Don, mtbyker has yet to make a thread of his stretch all the way to the Monster. And, speaking of the Monster, did you see what I did with Wally today....

Ok, try and pay attention. I never said it was a theory--i was just pointing it out and found it interesting. Remy even said something about it tonight on the pre-game show. I have never said one was linked to the other--i just pointed it out. Ohh and as far as stats go: he had an ERA of 1.29 before that game and an ERA of 7plus since---those are stats!

Sorry..

What I should have said was this "But the stats dont prove your under-researched statement"

Feel better about yourself?

Im not giving you a hard time bro, just dont regurgitate the crap you hear on a Sox pregame as verboten without doing a little research.

Peace.

Schill is fine, they had a rough stretch there and he will get back up. There'll be a mid july game where he'll pitch a complete game three hitter with 12 K's and we will all be like, the 133 pitch game?? what the hell is that.

Not really. Pitch counts like that can hurt a pitcher for weeks.
