He didn't do anything. matos was Yakking at him on the way to 1st after a HBP. Tavarez walked over and put his hand to his ear saying "I didn't hear you" and then the benches emptied.

what did Tavarez do? all I see is off-field delay

His 2-seamer ran in and hit Matos. Matos mouthed off a bit, Tavares mouthed back, and the benches cleared, but no fight broke out.

It won't be if Timlin gets the final out, and I hope they don't use him tonight. He's pitched 18 innings in 29 games, that's on pace for 100 innings out of the 'pen. He'll be gassed in September if they do that.

Paps is carrying the cross of the sox cause so far. 100 innings out of a closer is unheard of. It just seems like everytime the sox take a lead, they cannot pull away enough to keep their closer in the pen. The yanks had that problem in 04 and 05....

It's OK, I didn't take offense. To be honest, at the time I was undecided. On the one hand, it is tough to replace an integral part of the lineup with a rook, and Thome wasn't coming off a good year due to health problems. On the other hand, I knew he'd be a DH which would lessen the wear and tear and he's a hell of a hitter. When I drafted him in the fantasy league I thought I may have been taking a bit of a gamble. Lucky for me, it has paid off thus far.

Yeah, dont get me wrong though, I mean i had doubts when we first got him; and because of the bad season. But looking at it now, and seeing how good he is doing, i really dont think anything will happen to him (njury wise) BTW did you start him? haha because the last 3 games he has hit dingers.

Couldn't be in more agreement with you especially since he was facing both Mora and Tejada in the inning but all in all a good win for the Sox.

I was at the game (on the Green Monsta). I will say this pitcher is good. i have seen him before. but he obviously didn't have the best game.
