If you play CF, you get a much truer read on the ball, but the problem is, you need to cover a ton of ground. What you will save in slice you will lose in range....

WMP seems to run pretty well, so I don't think range will be a huge problem for him. Boneheaded mistakes on the other hand....

yea I mean really what has he done for the Red Sox?

Those 131 career wins with the Red Sox, 3rd highest, all have been gift wins.

I never said that he can't be effective. He can be very effective, but for me it is nerve -wracking to watch him pitch.

Great quote by Papi earlier on facing Lee tonight: When asked what adjustments he needed to make to face the tough Lee---papi looked at tina cervasio funny and said: "i just wait till the ball is over the plate and do some damage"

He should have taken his own advice with the bases loaded:rolleyes:

What the f***. The Red Sox have to be leading the league in grounding into double plays.

factor in:

Wake is pitching (no run support, no Tek) + opposing lefthander on mound (no Trot) + most runners left on base in majors = what we are seeing tonight

I heard that today on WEEI. They said the reason was becuase in center it's eaiser to read the ball off the bat! Who knows but anything but harris right now!
I really hope they waive Harris, and Seanez should be next.

What ever happened to ESPN's K-Zone? I am watching on ESPN becuase i can't get NESN tonight (MLB Extra Innings). There have been some "questionable" calls thus far and it would have been interesting to see it on K-Zone. Of course mabey that's why they got ride of it--making the umps look stupid!

Manny styling in the OF. He has looked very good out there this year. The extra work in spring training has paid off. No Manny moments in the field so far. Knock on wood.

Yeah, no s***.

Lowell, Gonzo, Bard and even Loretta totally piss me off. I really hate Lowell - bad. I just do.

Poor Wake, every time he pitches he'll have all those dead bats in there.

Oral made a good point (good commentary by the way) that after watching wake pitch the strike zone for Lee is probably bigger because of the difference between wake and Lee. Couple that with the fact that the home plate ump dowdy is a AAA ump that is subbing for a guy on vacation.

A telling sign when the ESPN guys say "boy have we seen a lot of called strikes for Lee tonight!"
