Also, does anyone realize how good that Tampa Bay lineup potentially is? Huff, Baldelli and Lugo are hurt, and Wigginton, Gathright, Crawford, Gomes, Branyan and Hall are all threats. While watching Papelbon struggle last night, I realized I was never really relieved to have him pitching to anyone. As intimidating and intense of a pitcher as he is, some of those Devil Ray batters really scared me. Anyone else feel this way?

Ya I think tampa can do more damage than people realize---hopefully to the yanks, o's, jay's:D We have done well against them in the past, but they are better this year---better than i think i have ever seen them--at least potentially. I think the changing of manager(more importantly getting rid of the overated Lou) has done the team a world of good mentally!

Happy B-day----let's hope they get you a nice present:D

RS's birthday thing made me curious, so I checked...we play the Yankees on my birthday.

:)

yea, 2004 on my bday was a good game as I watched Gabe Kapler get a walkoff hit. Last year against the Blue Jays was a loss, the last 1-run game at Fenway Park that the Sox have lost.

Can you check last year's May 9th game for me? Im too lazy. Hell, check back to 2004 too.

sure thing, I had went to the May 9th game last year. Good win against the A's, 13-5. It featured Kevin Millar's first HR of the season.

2004 was an 8-4 loss against the Royals

Well my birthday is during the "hot stove" . Winter meetings i think---anyway let's hope i am celebrating another WS ring on my birthday!:D

Reading game threads from the first week of 2004 is ridiculous. There were like 4 posts in all of them and the first one of the season is all like 'lets put 2003 behind us!'.

Ty Wiggington is in center???

he has never played CF in his MLB career, let alone only 2 games in LF back in the 90's. Hes also a very slow runner who has little range

Posted
nah, wigginton is in LF, Gathright is in CF...

that would make the most sense, even though wigginton shouldnt be in the OF at all. Is Gomes really that bad of an OF?

according to MLB.com Wiggintons in LF and Gathright in CF
