31 is really old?

I think, in the midst of his typo he was trying to say he really only had one monster year.

But Lee is money, I got him on my fantasy team. Good deal, Cubs would look like absolute morons if they didn't do this.

Yeah I don't even know how I came up with that.

Good deal for the Cubs. And I cant say I mind from a Yankess standpoint either. We all know that if Lee hit the market George and Brian would have been all over him. I would rather have Eric DUncan come up and be a mainstay for years to come than go out and spend big money on Derek Lee. So this works for me, the Cubs, Lee and Eric Duncan. Way to go Hendry.

I was hoping to see another Sox vs Yankees free agent bidding war. Im sure there will be another one in the future

Andy Pettitte perhaps??

..nah, that would be no fun. We'd win that one for sure.

Derrek Lee was the sure bet, as both Theo & Cashman have been known to covet him. Im not sure about the starting pitcher area as of now, for Boston that is: Schilling, Wakefield, Beckett, Clement, Papelbon and Lester are still under Sox control through next season.

I got a feeling that Zito could be in pinstripes next year.

True, but whether he pitches like Barry Zito or not, he still has the most devastating curveball in the game. I'm not saying that I'm totally afraid, and there are definitely other pitchers out there that I'm afraid of being in pinstripes, but the man is still Barry Zito. Then again, I guess the same could be said about Esteban Loaiza

Hes not the same Barry Zito. Hitters are laying off the curveball and changeup and waiting until he throws the 88 MPH fastball to pound. He has not really fooled hitters recently and its seems many of the hitters have figured him out. He might still have a very good curveball but if hitters are laying off hes going to struggle because his fastball is not good enough to get anyone out.

And Zito scares you?

Where did I say that in my post? All I did was relay which impending free agent I think will end up in pinstripes. Anyways he's still a young pitcher, young enough to re-find his cy young stuff, if possible.

You didn't I was saying does he scare you if he goes to the Yanks. Because personally I don't think Zito scares anyone anymore even if he is still young.

Dude jusr shut up and admit Zito is a good young pitcher. Jesus you make me laugh at your stupidity about saying that Zito doesn't scare you. Anyone you still has 10 years left in the big leagues and already owns a Cy Young scares me. All he has to do is to learn another pitch instead of only having three and he'll be a very dominate pitch for a long time.

Zito's problem is mental. He's got good stuff, but he relies on the curveball WAY too much.

I not gonna admit hes a good pitcher because frankly I believe he is very overrated. His fastball is average and now hitters realize that and are not biting on his curve or change anymore. They are just gonna sit on his 88 MPH fastball and pound it. He relies on defense alot and if he didn't have the spacious Oakland Coliseum as his home park his numbers would look alot worse than they do. He never deserved to win the Cy Young over Pedro in 2002 because Pedro was so much more dominant than Zito was. Beane should have traded the guy this past winter when his value was still high. If you think Barry Zito is an ace then your crazy.

Zito will follow Peterson back to the Mets next year. It makes sense from every standpoint.

I'm not big on Zito, he's never been a big game pitcher, and those are the guys the Yankees and Sox chase.
