Boston (4-1) at Baltimore (2-3) 1:35 pm EDT

BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- The Boston Red Sox try to complete the first of what they hope will be many sweeps this season Sunday when they wrap up a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles.

Boston has taken the first two matchups with Baltimore in contrasting fashions - a 14-8 slugfest victory on Friday and a 2-1 duel on Saturday.

In their latest triumph, the Red Sox got a stellar effort from Curt Schilling, who allowed only one run and three hits in seven innings. Kevin Youkilis had an RBI single and Jason Varitek added a run-scoring double for Boston, which won its third straight.

The Red Sox will try to maintain their solid play of late behind Tim Wakefield (0-1, 17.18 ERA), who hopes to rebound from a horrendous season debut. The veteran knuckleballer was torched for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings of Tuesday's 10-4 setback vs. Texas.

Baltimore will counter with Rodrigo Lopez (1-0, 6.43), who is 10-5 with a 3.78 ERA against the Red Sox. He faced them five times last season, going 2-2 with a 3.90 ERA.

The Mexican righthander yielded six runs in seven innings in his season debut but still got the victory in Monday's 9-6 triumph against Tampa Bay.

Hahahah what happened with the old thread or whatever? Someone else started one? Hmmmm...

Haha, RSR, were you the first one to use that Red Sox Baseball graphic between the 2 pitchers? I forget. Just curious.

And...let's hope Wake's performance last time was only because he was in Texas. Wake can keep us in any game, but our offense is going to need to step up against Rodrigo "Red Sox Killer" Lopez. About half the guys on the field today haven't faced Lopez as a Red Sox, so hopefully Lopez's dominance over the Sox sizzles out today. Go Sox!

EDIT: Haha, Papi really has TWO triples off of Lopez? That's funny

Rivernator started a game thread.

Rivernator started a game thread? :o Not happening. I personally think Bard will have a solid defensive day, but will stay silent with the bat. We shall see though. I don't understand taking Coco out. I know he's 1-7 against Lopez, but he's great defensively and if he gets on base we'll have a runner on second via the steal. He's also one of the Sox that hasn't faced Lopez as a Red Sox in the past. I know you gotta rest guys, but tomorrow's an off day. Why is Coco out anyway? Just resting him or what?

Coco jammed his finger sliding into 3B last night. I'm pretty sure they are just being cautious.

Hahaha, that was not loretta fault. That ball was scorched, christ.

That catch bard just made was great.

Your signature just made me laugh.

Dougie was a good baseball player. Given the chance to play I think you'll see we lost a great player. That is part of the reason he had to go. A guy like Doug should play everday (or as much as a catcher can).

Man I love waking up with the kids going out to do something with them. Then they go play and I sit around and watch a day game. Just the noise of the game in the background makes life better!
