I'm not a huge Kay fan. I prefer games when YES has Katt and Murcer in the booth; it's always enjoyable. I really enjoy when they have Paul O'Neill in the booth, though it doesn't happen that often.

I couldn't agree more, and it has nothing to do with the fact that he works for the Yanks. He's been going on the Sports Reporters on ESPN Sunday mornings, and my opinion of him as a douche was formed well before I ever saw him on YES.

Not true. There are a ton of other announcers I don't mind (I usually get the home team's broadcasters with the Extra Innings package). Two announcer crews I really like - and I don't even know who they are - are the guys for Seattle and Baltimore (one is Palmer).

 

Even as far as the Yankees broadcasts, I don't mind Jim Kott one bit.

 

It's totally fine to be a little biased towards your team, but Kay just comes across as being the ultimate dildo.

 

The Brewers two guys are pretty good, I think. Usually, they do a pretty good job on telling you what's happening.

 

Oh, I also dislike Michael Kay. He's usually whines the whole game, and comes up with most cliches, as any other announcers. The other guys in the box with him, are usually pretty good.

Is it possible Jerry Remy is providing a biased commentary aimed at the Red Sox fans? He'll probably alienate you, but that's expected.

 

 

 

Of course you do. You're part of the demographic they aim their program toward. If Fred Hickman says the Red Sox suck, you'd love it, no?

 

Basically, what I'm saying is that whatever your opinion is, it's invalid. Just because, it's way too biased to be considered seriously.

Jery Remy can be bisaed and everything is ok, but you guys bash Kay because you THINK he is being biased (which trust me, he isnt)?

 

 

..Well actually Fred Hickman doesnt work for YES anymore. However, if Bob Lorenz said that the Red Sox suck, I wouldnt be pleased one bit. Here in Yankeeland we are nowheres near as obsessed with you guys as you are with us. If Lorenz, or anybody else associated with the Network said that I would be angry at the unprofessionalism. YES is a very professional network and that is something that would never happen.

 

OK, so my biased opinions are invalid. Now tell that to every Sox fan who praises the work of Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo.

I think he does a fairly decent job. Regarding non-baseball topics he is a little off sometimes as most of his knowledge is on baseball. However he does his fair share of keeping up with the rest of the sports world due to his job at 1050 (ESPN RADIO), where he has one of the highest rated radio shows in the NY market.

I hate Kay. Just can't stand him. He was better on the radio with Jon Sterling. He wasn't so overbearing then. Both Remy and Kay are biased, though Kay tries to be unbiased while Remy doesn't try. That's the only difference and it's really splitting hairs.
