We stayed at one, and it was horrible. I don't know where the players stay, maybe next time we'll have to trail the bus.

Trying to find out for ya, no luck so far.

Curious. How does a New Yorker like yourself end up rooting for the damn Red Sox? c'mon man. You coulda at least been a Mets fan.
Every Red Sox fan has a story. Mine started in 1967, which is still the most exciting penant race that I ever witnessed.

I went to Ft. Myers about two weeks ago...yes, crawling with old people. The average age must have been north of 60.

Yeah, your right. Florida is full of old people, we're the dregs of society. Probably should euthanize each and everyone of us over 59 for the good of mankind. We drive slow, we don't know how to have any fun, we just generally take up space that could be put to much better use by someone in their teens or twenty's. It does my heart good to see that the older generation is thought so highly of by today's youth.

Crawling was probably the wrong word...let's go with...more old people than young people.

They like to eat early, so the restaurants are not too crowded after 7.

Hey guys, I know it is only five games in the well but I have decided to move on with this Johnny Damon thing. I believe Coco will more than compensate for the loss of Johnny, and Loretta will be a vast improvement in the No. 2 spot over Renteria. Hopefully, we will now give Trot and Youk the credit they deserve and realize the latter is an improvement over Millar and Trot should be headed for a banner season. Yes, it is early, very early, but you all have to admit that this is a great way to get the season underway. Two 2-1 wins in five games? When did that ever happen before.

I'm sure most Sox fans have long forgotten the days of the Demon with Coco's stellar play. A 4-1 record through 5 games is great, and with the pitching that we've seen in ALL of our pitchers thus far, with the exception of Wake (who always gets beaten up in Texas, so we shouldn't take that start too seriously and wait for the start tomorrow), I am very excited. Sure, it's early, but who's to say that this WON'T continue? I'm sure if Schill was going to be in his 2005 form, we would have seen some symptoms. But all we've seen is the good ol' 2004 Schill. I agree with you 100% seabeach that so far this year, everything is an improvement. We even get to see some stolen bases from Coco that we wouldn't have gotten to see as much if we had Demon. Sure, bad move on stealing 3rd, but hey, at least there was an attempt!

I'm very excited about this season. I know we've played the Orioles, who aren't great, but we did hit the ball pretty well overall against Texas like expected, and our pitching definitely shut down the Rangers' lineup, which is one of the best lineups in the MLB. This Sox team, IMO, is something special. I have a very good feeling about this season. (Then again, I always have good feelings about every season )

Schill, it all starts with your namesake. Believe me, if Curt Schilling has the big year we hope and expect him to have the rest could just all into place. Beckett is a great co-ace with the veteran righthander, and just as long as Clement knows he doesn't have to be the ace and carry the staff as was thrust on him last season we will be in good shape. Three top notch starters and Wakefield hopefully filling his role and we have the makings of an outstanding starting rotation. Wells? I expect he will come through for us as he did last year. Tomorrow? Well we have Bard and Gonzales and that is a lot of outs, and if the Baltimore pitcher tomorrow is a lefty it might mean strikeout king Pena might get another start. Hopefully the first six in our lineup will make up for the rest and have another great day.

Ohh, so you're a frontrunner, basically? I see.

He's just grand. Gave us without a doubt the best lineup in baseball.

Sure did. Although i'd still be pretty content with not having him. We could have somebody like Kevin Thompson, Melky Cabrera, or Bubba Crosby in center, which I would love.

"There's no way I can go play for the Yankees, but I know they're going to come after me hard. It's definitely not the most important thing to go out there for the top dollar, which the Yankees are going to offer me. It's not what I need." - Johnny Damon, May 3, 2005.

No Johnny, you just had to go find a boyfriend. Which just happened to be in New York and just happens to wear #2.

Do you secretly wish you were Johnny Damon's boyfriend?

Yes, at 8 years old I was a front-runner, even though they wer hardly in first place that year. I think they were in first place for 28 days. They didn't finish 1st for another 8 years and 11 after that, but I am definitely a front-runner.

Ughh..I wish I was alive in 1967...thats when Red Ruffing was inducted into the Hall of Fame...say a700hitter....do you remember that ceromony at all....too bad it happened 32 years before I was born...

ohh..and I still hate Damon, I don't hate Yankees going to the Sox...but I hate Sox(that openily hated the Yankees) coming to the Yankees...ala Pedro would be #1(or Manny if you get what I'm saying)

But if he does good for us...he does good for us, and I'll still cheer for him...but really, I'm cheering for the team
