2006 Sprite Dunk Contest Tonight

I needed to make a seperate thread for this, because I love the dunk contest so much, and though I wish Vince Carter and Kobe and LeBron would be in them, I have a feeling this one will be great. Former SU Hakim Warrick, My boy Nate the Great, Andre Iguodala, and Last years champ Josh Smith.

 

I really like Smiths dunks last year, but I'm pulling for Nate the Great this year, and Hakim, since I cheered him for 5 years at SU.

 

I'm hoping it goes, Nate the great-Smith-Hakim-Iguadala

9, on TNT, I think it goes Shooting starts, 3 point challenge, skills challenge then dunk, so dunk won't actually be till like 10...10:30

I made a $5 bet with my friend that Josh Smith would not win the dunk contest. I have Iggy, Warrick, and Nate Robinson and he has Smith. Not a very smart bet on his part.

Great attempt by Nate. 1/7, though. But his first attempt was the best. That was like JRich's dunk. Man, he would've made that if he was at least 2 inches taller.

Iggy with the best dunk I've ever seen in a dunk contest, though. That one off of the back of the backboard was just sick. Robinson is an athlete, man. All those attempts, and still being able to get up like he does... absolutely amazing.

Wow, Iggy got robbed. Who the hell changed his judging? It was a 10! Iggy's 2nd dunk was the best...

 

 

Oh well, I'm happy for Nate. I liked his dunk when he jumped over Spud. 20 years apart, 2 guys who are shorter than 5'10" won the dunk contest, so it's all good.

Iggy screwed this up by going for his best dunk too early. That off the back of the backboard dunk was insane ... and if he would have saved it he would have won.
