More or less, yes, but since that answer is fairly obvious, I'm debating those that feel MJ is the best ever. I've read a lot of things in this thread about rings and championships and that's why he's the greatest. I didn't bring up Bill Russell to say he's the greatest ever -- he's not. Some feel that deciding who the greatest of all-time was consists of counting Championships. it doesn't.

I cant stand MJ. That tells u how much I hate Kobe =P

I hate MJ with a passion, he is given to much credit, and he doesn't deserve it all. He had a team, bottom line.
So what if he had a team. Ill give you all the money in the world if you can prove to my why Kobe is better than him.

Have you tried to get this shirt yet? If you haven't, hurry up before they're all gone.

Two things. JJ is going to have a very successful NBA career. He's not going to be the headliner for any team, but he's going to be a great compliment to whatever team he goes to's #1.

As for the screens JJ gets. JJ get atleast one screen every play, but he still has to get himself open, by himself, almost every time he gets the ball. A screen can only take out 1 defender, and JJ is always doubled, if not triple teamed.

The 3 point line is what ... 1 foot closer in college than it is the NBA? And JJ has been known to knock down 3's 2 steps past half court. If anything is going to hurt his pro career it's not the 3 point line being a foot further out.

how many dukies have succeeded in the NBA, and yes I am comparing him to every other duke basketball player in the NBA.

Elton Brand. Chris Duhon. Jason Williams would have if he wasn't a moron. (You HAVE to admit that). Grant Hill.

And Kobe didn't?!!?!? What is your point? You're getting nowhere with this. MJ is flat out better than Kobe, I don't care if Scottie Pippen was on his team, Kobe had Shaq and Rick Fox.

Just stop.

Charles Barkely had teams in Phoenix. How many rings does he have?

Reggie Miller had teams in Indiana. How many rings does he have?

John Stockton, and Karl Malone had teams in Utah. How many rings do they have?

Patrick Ewing had teams in New York. How many rings does he have?

Dude thats a lewd point. You have to perform even if you have a team. It matters in the playoffs. Schillingouttheks already showed you that the teams that Kobe had when he won the 3 titles was a nice supporting cast. Just stop. Your wrong, and its getting gross.

UNC has better players than Duke suceed in the NBA. That's a Fact.

I'd even admit that. UNC had MJ, Rasheed, Vince Carter, Antwan Jamison, and many others that I can't remember at the time. (I'm not ready to say about the rookies in the NBA this year. Give them time but in a few years they will most likely be added to the list of successful NBA players from UNC.)

Brendan Haywood is steady improving, averaging more boards, points, and blocks every year. Duke basketball is O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D, and Danny Green will be much better than J.J. Redick, the same with Tyler Hansbrough, he'll be so much better than Shelden Williams, aka the "Lardlord."

OK, two very knowledgeable Duke fans have already admitted that UNC has better pros. But in the realm of COLLEGE BASKETBALL, Duke is by no means overrated. And I wouldn't bet the farm on Danny Green (who?) being better than Redick. That's just being bais, don't be like God is a red sox fan!

Without getting caught up in this thread and whats been said, Kobe is obviously a great player, but I think Jordan was the far more consistent player. He was also much better in making the players around him better. Kobe seems to be having the opposite effect on teamates since Shaq left.

BINGO! How many people have to say that before this "debate" dies??? :thumbdown

Yeah, I was lazy and didn't get caught up, but since this thread was still going i figured there had to be some debate going on. I see its just gotten off topic and turned into a Duke vs UNC argument.

Outside of Elton Brand and Corey Maggete, I can't think of any good NBA players from Duke. They might have the better college players, but UNC definetely has more NBA talent. That really has a lot more to do with coaching than anything else.

people still say manning... but the reason MJ got his titles, was his team, his supporting cast.

excuse me where were the bulls in the 94-95 season when jordan decided to play baseball , they werent that great at all without him, if he had not missed to 2 years the bulls would have won 8 in a row

I know this is way O/T, but I'd add Boozer, Duhon, and Hill (when healthy) to that list. Dunleavy Jr. and Battier are on the cusp of being good in the pro game.
