Texans have already made their mind up that Bush is their man. I think New Orleans will pick Leinart or if they don't Tennessee might trade up to number 2 to secure Young because they are the highest on Young out of all the teams I've heard.

I think the Texans are bluffing to drive up the value of that #1 pick.

As for Vince Young -- he's the best QB in the draft. Leinart's decision making skills in close games is questionable.

Matt Leinart

Rose Bowl 2003

324 YDS, 67.6 CMP%, 3 TDs, 127.9 Rating

Orange Bowl 2004

332 YDS, 51.4 CMP%, 5 TDs, 124 Rating

Rose Bowl 2005

365 YDS, 72.5 CMP%, 1 TD, 98.4 Rating

You are right..Matt Leinart obviously struggles in big games. After losing 2 games in his career at USC I don't think he has a good understanding of what needs to be done. Vince Young's QB ratings in bowl games (92.4 and 73.5) both lower than Leinart's numbers. Young did have good rushing stats in the two games with a total of 40 carries for 392 yards. Think it will work in the NFL???

Care to read my post again? I said close games. And I said decision making. He turned a 10 yard pass to the sideline into a 8 second ordeal to lose the game against Texas.

and you base his three year career at USC on that??

Yeah, look at his decisions he made in the close games.

He was saved by his own fumble and a missed penalty against Notre Dame, and wasted away the final 8 seconds against Texas because he looked absolutely clueless. The guy has a huge ego saying something to the effect of "We're still the better team" after the Texas game -- not a guy I want on my team.

Ken Dorsey did alright in college record wise, how's he done in the NFL?

Ken Dorsey comparisons are a little unwarranted. His arm is more wet-noodle-esque than Damon's.

There hasn't been a college player I can think of that compares to Young. He's a better runner than everyone outside of Vick and Tommy Frazier, but they couldn't throw the ball at all. He's a better passer than McNabb and Culpepper were coming out of college. McNair performed on the same level, but he did it against Division I-AA type talent. Young has dominated the game against Big-12, Big-10, and probably one of the best teams ever. Think he won't be able to perform on the next level? Well, most of his competition is coming from these same conferences.

True, but the point was that having great players around him can make a QB look great and that it's not just scrambling QB's that look great in college and never materialize in the pros.
