Another team clinched a berth today as Davidson beat Chattanoga 80-55 to win the Southern Conference Title.

Villanova also might finished off Syracuse for good barring a miracle in the Big East tournament as they won at the Carrier Dome 92-82.

Florida put Kentucky on ice beating them 79-64 in Lexington.

Also Ohio State wrapped up the outright Big 10 title beating Purdue 76-57.

UNC knocked off Duke on Senior Night.

Hell of a game.

If J.J. Redick continues to play the way he has, Duke might not have much of a chance in the tournament.

I agree. I have no idea whats wrong with JJ, but he better get it fixed or Duke is going to end up getting knocked out early. Infact, if he doesn't get his s*** together ASAP we're going to get embaressed in the ACC tourney.

Southern Illinois punches its Dance Ticket beating Bradley 59-46 to win the Missouri Valley Conference. Now its just a matter of how many at large teams get in from the MVC.

God I hope Gonzaga gets knocked off.

Very unlikely to happen especially with Gonzaga at home against a team with a losing record.

I know but thats exactly why I want to see it.

Haven't been on here much, but back to the Duke/ UNC game and WOW...Duke, at home, on Senior night, blows it. Tyler Hansbrough is the freakin man. He was great, even hitting a huge three, only his second of the season. Redick had 18, 1 FG in the second half though! Where was his clutch play when they needed him? Oh thats right, hes not clutch.

Duke has lost 2 straight, and are not playing good basketball right now, especially JJ Redick. Not a good time of the year to be playing your worst basketball. Oh well, sucks for duke, great for the Heels, as they should finish the season a top 10 team. Simply amazing after losing 91% of their scoring (top 7 scorers from last year).

Had nothing to do with clutch or not clutch. If you've seen JJ in the last 3-4 games something has been wrong. He just hasn't been JJ Redick. It's not like he just started missing shots in the 4th with a minute left ... like you said 1 FG in the second half. That has nothing to do with choking and everything to do with fatigue ... and injury ... or something just not being right with him.

Couldn't agree more. Going into this game I was talking to a fellow Duke fan and predicted that UNC would roll us. I don't know whats wrong with JJ, but if it's not fixed by tourney time it may be one of Duke's worst showings in recent memory.

Bruce Pearl of Tennessee should win it. He took a team that was unranked and not as talented as North Carolina and brought it to the top 15 in 1 season.
Posted
But they also had a very talented recruiting class coming in and Tennessee was not highly thought of. Roy Williams has done an amazing job with the heels this season and obviously should get a ton of votes but the job Bruce Pearl has done to bring energy to that Tennessee program and to get those players to play hard and to get into the tournament this year cannot be overlooked.

Some idiotic coach gave UNC a vote for number 1 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll. I want to know who this coach is and if they have ever heard of teams like UConn and Villanova.

I still get pissed every time I see Gonzaga up there. I can't wait till they meet a real team the tourney.

I guess UConn, Michigan St., Memphis, Maryland, and Washington are not real teams since those are some of the out of conference teams Gonzaga played.

Back to the coach of the year discussion.

I'll throw in Karl Hobbs from GW.

I don't care what their SOS is or what conference they play in. 26-1 is 26-1.

How bout Jay Wright? I know they were supposed to be good anyway, but after losing Curtis Sumpter and still being able to do what they did, in that conference, I have a lot of admiration for the job he's done this year.

But no doubt Pearl and Williams should both be near the top of the list.

How about Thad Matta from OSU. Ohio State wasn't ranked to begin the season nor were this year's freshmen highly thought of either. Despite that, the team won the #1 RPI rated conference.

Gotta agree with you there. You don't hear much about Hobbs (I didn't even know his name until now, )

And Jay Wright regardless of how good they were supposed to be, he lived up to the billing that everyone put on them at the end of last year.

Same with Matta, good candidate.

Gonzaga is 2-3 against ranked teams

UConn is 8-1 against ranked teams

MSU is 5-6 against ranked teams

Memphis isn't for real

Maryland is done and has been

Washington is 3-0 against ranked teams

Oh I guess until they play Duke they won't have played a real team yet. Gonzaga has an RPI of 10.

Yeah, you can't say they are not for real, those teams are all solid and in the upper tier of the nation. I agree, they are probably not on the level with UConn, Duke, or Nova though.

Sporstcenter says UConn, Duke, Nova, and Memphis are the #1 seeds inthe tourney as of now, with memphis being the most vulnerable.

I just showed you against the 5 legit teams they played they had a losing record. I don't care if their RPI is 1 ... if they don't beat the good teams they play what does RPI matter?

But they lost their top 7 scorers. The guys they brought back hardly even qualify as role players on the National Championship team. Think about it: 4 freshman starters and they're a top 10 team playing an ACC schedule. That's amazing. What Bruce Pearl has done has been great, but the SEC ain't the ACC.

Glad I'm not the only one. Everytime I see that team play they seem to struggle with WCC teams. I'm certainly not convinced that they're any good.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Gonzaga to lay an egg tonight.

Wow, good call on that one. Loyola Marymounts up 9 now with 16+ to go. Morrisons 4-12, Gonzaga cant hit a s*** for their lives.

A few bubble teams should be sweating right now if LMU wins. Teams in the CAA and MVC cannot afford any other upsets in other conference tournaments such as the Patriot, A-10 and maybe the CUSA.
