No way in hell.

Doc's all done.

You think he wants to go through this again next year? You think he wants to deal with aging veterans again who fell apart at the seams because of injury/selfishness/childness. This run is over man. They got their asses kicked by a better, younger team who wanted it more.

You think he wants to coach a team that lost its heart and drive? At times they looked like they didnt even want to be out there man.

Rondo was a baby from the moment they traded Perkins til now, not even listening to Doc during timeouts and was seen arguing with other teammates during timeouts.

Big Baby turned into his crybaby self again too. The guy sucks, tries to do too much, gets his minutes cut for playing stupid/selfish then whines and cries about it.

Agreed. Nice post.

I'd kinda be shocked to see Howard in Boston.

When was the last time they netted a big free agent?

They just don't have the trade chips to land him.

Baby looked OK against 2nd and 3rd stringers when the opposition was deep in to their bench rotation. He did OK when he was lower on the totem pole for rotations and nothing much was asked from him.

When they needed him to step up......he was either missing 10 footers badly, or getting the ball stuffed down his throat by a 6'2 point guard.

Baby cannot create his own offense. He needs to park his fat ass on the baseline and wait for rondo to drive and kickout. Unfortunately, the Celtics asked him to do more than he was capable of.....and Baby turned into a selfish ball hog with zero offensive skills.

They said he wasn't clutch earlier in the season because he had like 3 straight games where he missed the final shot. Found this picture on tumblr and thought it was pretty funny.

They were talking about it on ESPN during 76ers series in the one game the Heat lose

Meh. Considering all circumstances it wasn't that impressive. Gotta do it in bigger games down the stretch now to shed that label.

He also hit some huge shots on monday in the 4th and in the overtime. I dont really care if people consider him clutch or not, but I mentioned it because Im annoyed of like ESPN and other experts saying that Lebron isnt as good as Kobe because he isnt clutch and how Heat cant beat good teams and etc..

everybody gets lucky once in awhile

He has been making big shots throughout his career, everybody misses some. He doesnt become the best player in the NBA by luck.

Yeah, everyone looks clutch sometimes, but there's some players who look clutch a lot more than others, they seem to have the ability to turn into Superman whenever they wanted. Kobe at least WAS one of those players when he was in his prime. Michael Jordan was definitely one of those guys. Lebron got shut down for entire playoff series' in tough situations before. Against the Celtics, the Spurs, etc. He looked pretty mediocre in those series to be honest.

He's not at that level where he's unstoppable in all situations against the most formidable challenges yet. This years Celtics were not that good without Perkins.

Nah, that's a load of BS. Some players are better closers than others. Some guys handle the pressure better than others. Is it quantifiable? No, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

In his weekly interview with WEEI's Big Show, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge bluntly discussed the future of coach Doc Rivers, what his roster might look like in 2011-12 and whether or not the Kendrick Perkins trade caused the team's downfall.

After Rivers said in his postgame interview that he was leaning toward returning to the C's bench next season, Ainge admitted on Thursday, "I feel the same way. I think Doc is coming back. We talk regularly, and I got that impression a few weeks ago. I think we'll get something done, and we could get something done very shortly on a long-term contract."

Ainge intimated that Jeff Green will in all likelihood be in a Celtics uniform next year. He would be willing to re-sign Glen Davis for the right price. And he has no idea whether Jermaine or Shaquille O'Neal will return for next season. Also, Ainge didn't rule out a blockbuster deal involving any of the Big Four.

"I would have to look into that," Ainge said of a deal involving Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett or Ray Allen, "if a good trade came about." As for trading Rondo, he said, "Probably not. I can never say never, but that's not our plan right now. Absolutely not."

Asked whether or not he blamed the team's 4-1 loss to the Heat in the Eastern Conference semifinals on the midseason trade of Kendrick Perkins, Ainge said, "I know a lot of people will blame the Perkins trade for our lack of success. I'm OK with that. I take responsibility for that. There's a legitimate argument to be made. I don't buy into Perkins' screening ability or Rondo's struggles, but could he have helped our defense and help us get some more stops? There's a legitimate argument for that, but it's our offense that let us down."

I seriously hate the idea of the Heat to the point where I'd rather even have had the Lakers win over them. I hate the Lakers too.

No, just Heat fans are really obnoxious, I think it'd be nicer to make them shut up than to hear the Lebron haters shut up.

I'm all for the Bulls winning the championship btw. I love Rose but I wouldn't mind the Heat winning. LeBron earning his ring would shut a LOT of people up.

No one's ever going to shut up since he didn't win it with Cleveland. It's sort of unfortunate, but he's going to always be compared to Michael Jordan, mainly because of the hype surrounding him, among other things. One of the things fans will always do is compare those two, and MJ won a championship sticking with a team that was so mediocre for most of his early career. MJ didn't win his first title til he was almost 30, and he did it with the team he was given.

I'm not saying it's right, but that's what hype can do. James is never going to live down giving up on the Cavs because of how much he's compared to Jordan.

lol the Mavs shouldn't have even been in the 2006 Finals. Damn Refs.

In all fairness, the Spurs only beat the Suns (was it the next year, 2007?) because they used dirty tactics.

Ital what? I'm pretty sure I remember the Mavs beating the Suns fair. That's like the only basketball season I paid attention too.

Emmz, you can thank the media for making him to be the next Jordan. I don't even think Kobe will be like Jordan. No one will. As for being faithful f*** that he played his ass off and didn't get jack s***. He came close but the Spurs shut em down in the finals. If you have an oppurtunity to play with 2 elite superstars to win a championship your damn right he's going to leave. He owes Cleveland nothing f*** them. Just because Jordan stayed with his team doesn't mean LeBron has to also.

I agree although not quite to your extent, but I think that karma gave the Spurs 2007 to make up for the fact that it f***** them out of 2006. Kind of like the Red Sox with 2004 to make it up for 2003. ;)
