That was their 1 win vs. a good team' date=' right?[/quote']

Question: Do you guys dislike the Heat or LeBron?

The Heat did not have so many haters last year but then again they weren't as good as they are now.

The only players I have respect for on the heat team is big Z and Dwyane Wade

LeBron and Heat fans. I don't have anything against the other Heat players, or the Heat teams prior to this past year.

That's cool and all but you still didn't answer the question. If LeBron was on any other team other than the Heat this thread wouldn't have so much hate for them.

This thread would have hate for the team lebron was on except Cleveland probably

I figured it was LeBron. Why throw the hate all over Miami though? I know you guys didn't hate Cleveland..you just didn't give a s*** about them. The way he announced he was going to Miami was unnecessary I'll admit. Now if he was going to your team how would you react? The man owes NOTHING to that dump. N-O-T-H-I-N-G

You would be incorrect sir.

Is that from tonight?

If that answer is no, how was the press conference tonight?

That was from Sunday ... haven't seen the one from tonight yet, hoping to catching it on SC after college basketball.

I know a bunch of Heat fans that I want to give a lot of s*** too. I don't hate the city of Miami or anything.

I don't love him for the Knicks, but if the Heat had Mike D'Antoni as their coach, I think they'd be unstoppable. In my opinion, a lot of their issues come down to offensive strategy down the stretch, and MDA would be the perfect guy for them.

That's understandable but if it's the fans you dislike then I don't see how that falls on the team. You guys can hate them all you want to be honest I don't care. I'm not even a heat fan. I just think one person shouldn't make someone hate the team.

That might destroy their good defensive numbers though. I mean I doubt that anybody denied the Phoenix Suns offensive abilities.

Can't be worse than Spoelstra.

I don't think so ... defense isn't as difficult to execute as offense (because so much of it is just about working hard and communicating, rather than technique), and Miami is just so strong in that department that I think they could get by even with a coaching staff that isn't known for teaching great defense.

The Heat's current collapse is the best thing to happen to Cleveland since...........

....the recession hit Detroit and made Cleveland only the 2nd worst city in the country?

(I'm joking Suns) ;)

RE: Mike D'Antoni

Ital, I think that's a bit of a false narrative. It was never the most important think on a MDA team and he never had a really solid unit of defensive players, but from what I understand having listened to people around the Knicks, it certainly sounds like there has been much more of an emphasis on defense lately.

It's not the coach, it's the fact that they have complete garbage surrounding their stars. They'll win some close games they've been losing lately. They won't shoot 7% in late situations all season, but the rest of that cast is still going to be well below average.

Posted
I don't think you can dismiss the Heat's issues so cavalierly. There are some legitimate problems with their late game offense that need to be addressed if they're going to make a deep run in the playoffs. All the close losses against good teams isn't a fluke' date=' in my opinion.[/quote']

What legitimate problems? This garbage where people try to make a thing out of a sample size that covers all of 18 different field goal attempts throughout the whole season? That is anything but legitimate.

Your second point is kind of a contradiction You admit that those were not sound defeats, and on at least a couple of occasions if the Heat simply make the shot instead of miss it, they win the games and we're probably not having this particular discussion. When is the result of a single field goal attempt not fluky, to a degree?

It's not about 18 FG attempts, it's about the way their offense functions down the stretch in close game. Way too much one on one, not enough ball movement, and a ton of poor shots.

My second point isn't a contradiction at all. I'm simply saying that it's not a fluke why they keep losing close games, but rather the product of a legitimate issue ... fourth quarter offense. In the playoffs they'll be playing these close games, and if they don't fix these issues, I don't see them winning eight games against Chicago and Boston.
