suspended for 15 games ' date=' well deserved[/quote']

Bias aside, it's too harsh. 15 games is ridiculous for just punching another player considering JR Smith and Nate Robinson did worse by tackling one another into the crowd and only getting 10. Eh, it's the NBA -- you have to be used to unreasonable punishment.

Glad they announced it today, the Chilis I work at got some tickets to tonights game and were selling them for $7 a pop to some employees and my roommate and co-worker didn't bother to tell me so I didn't get in on that. Now he gets to watch a Nuggets team that probably can't put up 60 points get dismantled by a Wizards team that's getting hot.

I'll also add that what 'Melo did was no worse than Antonio Davis running into the crowd to confront a fan (five games)

I also thought it was unfair that Melo was suspended 15 when Robinson and Smith were only sat for 10. Melo only had one piece in the fight, they were the fight. Shouldn't they be suspended for 20 games for going into the crowd, like Stephen Jackson and Ron Artest?

I think Stern is being unfair only to make an example of a star player.

By the way, it was a nice slap, punch whatever, it knocked the guy down

Well Carmelo's shot was more of a' date=' hey you're really not paying to much attention to me... BOOM. Plus he had no reason for it in the first place, he wasn't fouled, no reason for him to punch the other guy.[/quote']

Can you blame Melo for being pissed? Isaiah warned him not to go into the paint not longer before the whole thing happened. He knew the Knicks would play dirty. And then they had a dirty foul on JR Smith, who's become 'Melos good friend. That foul was bad even by flagrant foul standards.

I'm with 'Melo. If I know a teams got it out for me and my teammates and then they pull that s***, I'm throwing punches too.

isiah is one of the reasons that lesbian lacrosse is about to pass the nba in tv ratings

hes been a flaming cock sucker for 25 years and should be beaten by larry dolan and the other knick owners for the common good of the franchise

david stern has issues with guys who make 8 figures a year bitching about respect and acting like common street niggas as opposed to the proffesionals theyre supposed to act like

ive followed melo since syracuse and hes been a good kid the whole time

hes a player and a great teamate as well

however

this is example time once again

let this show the other nitwits in the league what could happen to them if they want to throw down on the court

let them go out into the parking lot and settle it with uzi's like real men

Yeah, I agree, and then he kinda ran away to his own bench instead of finishing what he started, I mean I had a load of respect for the guy at 'Cuse, but now I kind of refer to him as the term that rhymes with "wussy" in my mind now-a-days.

However, I don't really know or care much for the brawl, so i can't really judge him fully yet. Whatever, this doens't really affetc my daily life, I'm pretty much fine with College Hoops for the moment.

Had 36 points after one. 46-20 three minutes into the second quarter... I don't mind being wrong, sometimes. Bad Earl (Earl Boykins, Earl Watson was good Earl... and after typing Earl that many times it looks strange...) is playing great so far. Hope him and the rest of the team continues to step up in 'Melos absence and these 15 games could be a positive... they also could be a huge negative...

this is 1 sport where 1 man makes a world of diff

the nuggs are pretty good but this will cost them a few games in the overall standings in the west which in turn may cost them a home game in the playoffs

this

after being up 20 in the last minute of the game against the floundering knicks??

george karl f***ed up but he gets a pass here due to the other coach being 1 of the most hated men on the planet and definitley in the sport

He has a team that's trying to learn how to win. I've seen them blow a, like, 15 point fourth quarter lead against the Hawks already this season. Like George Karl said, how could they have been running up the score if they weren't even scoring? In the more than three minutes between Smith's dunk and Camby's free throws shortly before the brawl, they had a free throw and an Andre Miller layup. The Nuggets starters can only manage 3 points in over 3 minutes against a Knicks team that had already thrown in the towel? And as I understand it (I didn't get to watch the game because I was working), the Knicks were still full-court pressing the Nuggets. That may or may not be true but if it is, that doesn't sound like a team that had given up. The only thing more ridiculous than 'Melo getting 15 is Isaiah getting none when he clearly told 'Melo not to go near the paint.

thats the future of the team right there

Very bright future of the Celtics, I think.

Stupid blizzard. I'm dieing to see some Nuggets action, particularly with AI, now. His first game with the team will be tomorrow night. The Suns managed to get into Denver for last night's game but the game was still postponed because they'd have been playing in front of a completely empty arena. It's been hell trying to get around Colorado today... I can't even imagine how bad it would've been attempting to get to the game last night.

Also, within thirty minutes of the trade being announced, Denver sold 340 season ticket packages. It was a great move from all aspects by the team. They'll sell the Pepsi Center out and they'll be among the tops in road attendance. Plus all of the AI jerseys that are going to sell.

Iverson makes his debut tonight at home against Sacramento! I'm so pumped! :D :D :D

Edit: Alright, so it's not actually known if he will play tonight since all parties involved in the deal need to take a physical and the blizzard has made it difficult to get anything done these last few days. His plane was supposed to arrive 3 hours before tipoff, so around 4ish mountain time, but even if he gets his physical and Miller and Joe Smith don't, he can't play.

But also, the game time may be moved back since the Kings had to fly into Colorado Springs, which is 70 miles away from Denver.

Iverson looks good in blue and yellow.

This offense is going to be fun to watch. Just had about 14 points in a 2 minute stretch. Iverson contributing two three pointers to that cause.

Usually when I see a player traded, I think he looks super awkward in his new jersey. But this, for some reason, just fits. It probably has to do with seeing Iverson in the 05-06 All Star game

I'm the same way. It took me forever to get used to see Champ Bailey wearing #24 for the Broncos, McGrady dressing up for the Rockets, Carter on the Nets. It's especially the case when it's my team's uniform...

But this looks right for some reason.

A couple notes. Iverson stepped off of a plane after not having played in three weeks and delivered 40 minutes, 22 points and 10 assists. I'm incredibly impressed by that. And he got those 10 assists with a depleted roster around him. His top three teammates (Melo, Camby, and JR Smith) were out. He could've had more but guys weren't finishing. Even tonight, with nobody around him, he was pass first -- so it shouldn't be a problem when 'Melo gets back. I think JR Smith is licking his chops at all the chances he's going to get. The team just needs to get used to all the angles and whatnot of the passes. A lot of missed chances because guys weren't ready for the pass. Nuggets hung tough with only eight players.

Well...Iverson killed us tonight.

Yeah, he was damn good. I hope this begins to answer the question of whether he and 'Melo can play together. He's been playing very, very unselfish in his first two games. His passing is contagious too. The guy's a lot of fun to watch. As much as I hate Earl Boykins, the two of them have some great chemistry, so far.

If any more of my fantasy players get hurt, I will choke a bitch. The list so far, T-Mac, Yao, Krstic and now Chris Paul. It's like every night I turn on sportscenter and there's another one of my players writhing in pain.

According to sources close to both the Kings and Clippers, the teams are very close to completing a one-for-one swap for Ron Artest and Corey Maggette.

The Clippers would like to have the deal done before Friday's game against the Kings so they can have Artest for a six-game road trip starting on Monday. It's not often you see teams trading within the same division, but both players are unhappy and the salaries work, so it makes perfect sense. Artest's role shouldn't change much with the Clippers, but Maggette would move into the starting lineup for the Kings, giving him some extra fantasy value. Stay tuned.

seems like everyone hates boykins..

stocker was at my house watching the game and he got more pissed when boykins got the ball than i do when scalabrine gets it.

I can't stand him, usually, but he's really stepped it up in the three games since the brawl. My problem with him is that since we usually have no half court offense, he used to dribble the ball around for about 18 seconds and then pass the ball to someone who's not anywhere near open enough to take a shot. But him and Iverson have great chemistry together. I think it's that they both open up space on the court for one another to work. Or more or less that Iverson opens up room for him to work. When he's on he can be lethal. When he's bad, though, he's terrible.
