Pettite over Buehrle?

Look at their peripherals this year. It isn't even close.

Pettitte: 1.03 WHIP, 6.9 K/9, 4.17 K/BB, 1.65 GO/FO, 174 ERA+, .613 OPSA

Buehrle: 1.18 WHIP, 5.7 K/9, 3.73 K/BB, 1.30 GO/FO, 143 ERA+, .672 OPSA

Pettitte leads him in every category and has more postseason experience. I'd take him over Buehrle every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Here's my list (based on the way they are pitching right now, not the past)

1. Oswalt

2. Contreras

3. Pettitte

4. Clemens

5. Buehrle

EDIT: Added OPSA stat.

Ok, homer. What's wrong with takiing Pettite over Buehrle? Pettite has lower ERA, OBA and BAA, and he has more strike outs despite pitching less innings. I'll take those stats over 3 CG's anyday.

What's next? Jenks over Lidge?

EDIT: Jenks was absolutely nasty tonight.

If I'm picking who I want to go in the World Series this year, and not to build a team it'd be;

1. Oswalt

2. Clemens

3. Pettite

4. Contreras

5. Buehrle

Guys I want with the ball in the World Series.

1) Clemens

2) Pettitte

3) Oswalt

4) Buehrle

5) El Duque

Actually that was fairly easy. I can't jump on the Contreras band wagon, I've watched him fall on his face in big spots too often.

I believe much of Contreras' promblems in NY were due to him tipping his pitches. Before the game he started against us in the playoffs they made mention of past stats, but then said that he used to tip his pitches then, and doesn't now.

The saddest thing in all of this is that 3 of the first 4 starters for games 1 and 2 are ex Yankees. Someone shoot me...if El Duque winds up in long relief in game 2 because the White Sox SP blows chunks, I might consider killing someone (preferrably any of those idiot fat f***s from the Tampa Bay Office
