Before anyone gets upset or thinks I'm trolling, read the end of this message. Before this series started I really hated Boston, equally as much as the Spanks, and nearly as much as the Cubs. In fact a large majority of PaleHose fans called the RedSox the Red Cubs. I really thought that the Boston and Cub fans were one and the same. "Woe is us, we are cursed" in addition I perceived them to be hooligan-degenerate fans who don't know anything about the game.

I couldn't have been any more wrong, the class and knowledge of the Boston fans, both from the first game in Chicago on Tuesday that I attended, and people posting here and at various PaleHose boards really surprised me. Cheers to the real BoSox fans and the city of Boston because a lot of White Sox fans are reporting that they were treated terrifically as guests. Collectively you have changed the minds of a lot of Chicagoans and a lot of Pale Hose fans.

I think the negative image associated with Boston, is a lot of their douchebag fans who don't even live there. For example, all of the sCrUB fans seem to believe they have some sacred bond with Boston. Either way, cheers to the real fans and the city of Boston, the team, organization, fans, and city showed their true colors.

Who wouldnt pull for them? Hahaha. Its pretty much the only option. Yankees... why in the hell would you root for them? Blue Jays are in Canada. Orioles had Rafael Palmeiro. Devil Rays ownership blows. I see the Sox as the only team to cheer for in the East, hahaha.

Actually I came here to say the same thing. I cannot believe how classy the Red Sox nation has been to Chicago. They kept showing on the news last night Red Sox fans saying good job and to go kick the Angles or Yankee's butts. The Yankee's were always my second favorite team after the White Sox but after this series I think that's going to change. My 10 year old son even wants me to buy him a Red Sox jersey. He even saw how great Boston was.

You guys have a great city there.

Oh gee thanks. As if any of us care what you think about our city's fans you brain dead turd! What is this whole "real fans" statement I keep hearing anyways? What the hell is this stigma associated with fans who boo the players or question the manager are not real fans??

The other night when the Bruins lost to the Habs, Montreal got a power play with 25 seconds left in the game on a TERRIBLE call. Of course Montreal with the perennial rabbit's foot up their ass score a game winning goal and the fans litter the ice. Dale Arnold the NESN broadcaster who is one of the worst announcers of all time begins on a tirade about people who throw debris on the ice are not real Bruins fans!!

So here we have Mr Arnold who is paid a bundle by the Bruins to commentate even though he is talantless, clueless and boring. Yet he is going to rip fans who paid their hard earned money to see a good game because they threw a cup of beer or some nachos on the ice to show their disapproval with the call. That to me is a joke!

As for this White sox fan who posted here who hates everything about Boston and it's fans, all I have to say to you is have fun losing to the Angels in the next round. Your team beat a Red Sox team who should not have even made the playoffs. Congratulations! This year's Red sox were a shell of the 2004 team so don't get all excited about your sweep. The White sox are a good team don't get me wrong, but they are not going to beat the Angels in a best of 7.

As for me personally, I want the Atlanta Braves to win the whole thing now that the Red Sox are done.

Yeah... thats wrong. Dale Arnold is one of the best commentators in hockey.

Don't complain about that s***. Boston had a SHITLOAD of powerplays before that and Fitzgerald deserved that penalty. At least for once the refs didn't take into account the time on the clock when deciding what's a penalty and what isn't. Yea it cost you guys the game but tough s***

If you think that's a hook by Fitzgerald then you need to think again. Even Strength would become defunct if you called every penalty like that. But what I really want to address is what Irish Jay said. Where do you come up with the idea that throwing stuff on the ice is ok. If you want to protest a call then just boo, what exactly does throwing things accomplish.

OKAY let's get off the hockey talk, this is a congrats to White Sox and thanks Boston thread.

Congrats to the White Sox, we know what it's like winning after a long drought!! Good luck in the playoffs, and stick it to the Cubs fans please. Think about the mass suicide that would happen among the Cubs fans if the ChiSox won a World Series

Hah, thanks guys, we're not as bad as we're cracked up to be. Just a little cranky sometimes :D

Here we go again! Because I dare to critique a team who had a 130 million dollar payroll Im not a real fan. . As for the toad who said that Fitzgerald deserved to be called for a penalty, all I have to say is you obviously have never played hockey in your entire life. It used to be an unwritten code for refs to not decide a close game in the 3rd period by calling a penalty unless it was blatant. That was marginal at best and since Bettman came in to the league it has become the norm

Gary Bettman may be the worst commisioner of all time for any sport. He has expanded the game to places where there is no interest and at the same time gotten rid of teams which were located in hockey hotbeds (Qubec, Winnipeg, Minnesota and Hartford.). He also has been hellbent on changing the rules in hockey in such a way that it merely drives the real hockey fans away to fullfill his delusions of building a tv marketing empire.

Stocker,

Throwing trash on the ice does not accomplish anything, however I don't blame the fans for doing it. They shelled out loads of money to see a game that has changed so much in the past decade you can't even recognize it. People like Dale Arnold blow throwing debris on the ice way out of proportion. Arnold and Neumeir are the same two clowns who moaned and groaned about Red Sox fans chanting "Yankees suck". The two of them can't understand what it's like to be a real fan who has to PAY money to attend games.

So if my next door neighbor pisses me off because he parks his car on my property, does that make it ok to throw trash on his lawn? The fact is littering isn't ok, while I agree that throwing things on the ice doesnt determine whether you are a fan or not that doesn't make it acceptable. And by the way if Arnold and Neumy aren't good hockey announcers who are? Dave Shea?

Posted

Fred Cusak and Derek Sanderson were the best. Barry Melrose is a great announcer, Mike Eruzione is a great announcer. Dale Arnold is a total panzy who would be better off wearing a skirt and picking roses.

As for your neighbor pissing you off, if you threw trash on his property I'm sure he would not piss you off again. When the next store neighbor continued to block my driveway off and he received a bat through his windshield he did not do it again :D

Okay then, I'm ashamed that you're only a year younger than me. Why do all 14 year olds these days seem SO SO much younger than me? Maybe I'm just advanced for a 15 year old. Who knows. Also, I'm probably closer to being 2 years older than you...I'm almost 16. Woot.
