I dont think there is one best player. I think there is groups... The first group would include guys like Lebron, Dwayne Wade, Shaq, Garnett, Duncan, T-Mac... you know, guys who can really impact games.

I can agree with with the one half about the 'groups' but there isn't one best player? Come on, Garnett Duncan and Shaq are in a league of their own. Garnett puts up great numbers, you can make an argument he puts up the best. Just state who you think puts up the most consistant numbers.

Well you need to define best. You can do it as best statistics (LeBron/Garnett), most dominant (Shaq), or the guy who can take games over (Wade). Its not like football or hockey or even baseball where everyone does the same thing.

Overall I would say its LeBron because he fits into all 3 of the categorys.

I say this is a good bunch of dudes, but no one thinks Duncan is the best? He's argueably the most consitant baller in the NBA, and he's a good presence, they say he's a very funny dude, yet serious.

I still think Garnett, because he's a good leader like Duncan, just he's so much more versitile than anyone in the league, bar none. He can play all five positions, he's the best passing 7 footer since Wilt Chamberlain, and he can dunk, rebound and block shots. He's currently holding the record for most 20-10-5 seasons and holds the record for most consecutive 20-10-5 seasons, with 6 and counting. Larry Bird held it before he did, but Garnett has sharttered it. I think Garnett has led the league in efficiency for the last 5 years aswell.

I'd take Duncan over Garnett given a choice just because he seems to work better with his teammates. Garnett may be a one man wrecking crew at times, but Duncan gets the job done in the end without having to put up huge numbers.

Well yeah, but this isnt fair to say because not everyone has the same team. I mean look at San Antonio. Theyve got the most underrated player in Ginobili, and Parker and Barry, just to name a few. But I do agree that Duncan gets the job done night in and night out, and rarely do you see the guy with a bad performance.

I agree the Duncan has arguably the best supporting cast around him, but Garnett wasn't exactly playing with a sub par bunch of teammates. Maybe it's just part of the system San Antonio has.

You like dunking, rebounding, and blocked shots? Amare Stoudemire is a poster waiting to happen. And the scary thing about him is he has only been playing basketball for 5 years in his WHOLE LIFE. 2 in high school and 3 in the NBA, which means he has been killing dudes on sheer athleticism and not a true knowledge for the game. Hes not even at his prime yet. He's still learning...that should scare people.

Numbers? He had (I think) 10 or more 30 point playoff games and quite a few 40 point games. And if you wanted one qoute to sum him up heres one from Shaq...

I've seen the future of the NBA. And his name is Amare Stoudemire.

Kevin Garnett or Lebron James.

I think picking Dwayne Wade is a huge stretch, especially when you consider his teammate is one of the top 5, which takes a lot of attention off of him. And even when Shaq's not in the lineup, he's a slasher in a lineup that had some very capable 3 point threats.

I think after this season, 'Melo will be in the conversation. He's supposedly lost 20 lbs.

Damn, Amare is having a knee surgery. I hope he recovers ASAP.

Lebron James, Shaq, Amare Stoudomire (terrible spelling), Garnett (yes this low cause he never showed he's a big winner), I can't think right now.
