I have a really bad feeling for us BoSox Fans. I think our luck in going to run out and we are going to lose 3 games to 1. The reason is simple, The ChiSox will win game 1 and possibly game two. They have one of the best if not the best road record in the AL. We cannot underestimate this team. If we think we are invincible because we are the champs, we better wake up because this team is for real. A team just doesn't win 99 games. They also just beat the Tribe who was the hottest team in the AL. We won the series against them 4-3 but they beat us bad in the last game. I don't want to spread doom and gloom but this ain't gonna be easy. :(

yes but first 2 games of the series are at chicago, not best home record. im not being cocky and saying it will be an easy sweep, i'll take one game at a time, you gotta hve faith

Yeah. I'm not being arrogant, because I believe the threat of the Chi Sox is real, but I think we should keep our faith, and believe that we can beat them, because we can, but they could beat us, also.

Well, if your reasoning that the ChiSox could win the first 2 games is the reason we will lose the series, you are seriously mistaken. While the ChiSox are absolutely a great team, and a force to be reckoned with, what happened in 2003 with the A's? We came back from 0-2. Last year? Even BETTER! Back from down 0-3.

Oh yeah, an official welcome to all the new ChiSox fans, good luck, will be on helluva series :D

Any team that gets into the playoffs should be viewed as a serious threat, but we can play with any team. Like user name said

I'm not goin to underestimate them but personally I'm just not afraid of them. Based on what we've done in the regular season I've seen us rock Garland and Buerhle, and am only afraid when Konerko is swingin a stick, otherwise no one really stciks out as a great player.

I may be slightly worried about their pitching staff, but their team as a whole does not scare me. Remember they did build up their huge lead against the cup cake teams in the first half of the season, and when they had to play teams .500 or better they showed their true colors. The Chisox had the same post ASB record as the Rockies ... thats right ... the Rockies ... atleast I believe it was the Rockies ... if not it's another bottom feeding team. The ChiSox are a good team, but we're a better team, and we'll prove it this week. Don't worry.

Second Half Records:

Red Sox: 46-29 (.613)

White Sox: 42-34 (.552)

These are only marginal differences and I guess I could say that the Red Sox had some nice cup cakes in the second half.

BTW...Rockies: 36-39 (.480)

I'm not quite sure which team your talking about, but no last place team had a better second half record than the White Sox.

The White Sox are not a very good team now as they were. Their offense is no match to ours, their pitching is just above average at best.

I see the Red Sox easily beating them 3-1.

I belive we did beat alot of .500 teams aswell, not only the bottom feeders.

I'm not trying to say that you only beat bottom feeders, but your first half schedule was insanely easy and you took advantage of it, and slowed down once you had a harder schedule. I'm not trying to insult the Chisox just saying that you may not be as good as your record suggests. Obviously they're a great team though.

I apologize as I misheard what was said about the records. It's actually since August 1st the Chisox and Rockies were both 30-28.

MC Hammer, is correct on the same record as the Rockies, but his timeframe is off. The records are the same from Aug. 1 to the end of the season. Both went 30-28 the last two months of the regular season.

EDIT: Beat me to it.

Yeah I just corrected myself, but thanks.

The White Sox get more love here than in any of the national media. I guess it shows where intelligent fans hang out.

The other part of the equation is the team had a 15 game lead and no killer instinct. At some point they were crusing thinking nothing could go wrong. If Cleveland isn't the hottest team in baseball for 6 or 7 weeks, it's a non issue.

I know one thing....if the Red Sox are doomed to be dumped in the playoffs I will be cheering for the White Sox.....I have been most impressed with there passion and determination....they look like a team that really wants this and is giving it everything they have

Meanwhile the Red Sox look frustrated, tired, and not in playoff mode. Thats the fault of the leaders and coaches on the team for not getting them pumped up and ready to do battle. Now the momentum is clearly on the White Sox and thats something tough to battle back against.......but they have done it many times before.

I appreciate the comments about our team's play. As you know, White Sox fans haven't had too many playoff moments to enjoy. This year's team, unlike the teams in 2000 and 1983, play confidently. They don't just hope to win. They expect to win. Only the 1993 playoff team had that kind of confidence in recent memory.

With that said, most White Sox fans know that it is over. Yes, you might hear or read something a White Sox fan wrote in the heat of the moment that suggests we are cocky now, but believe me, until the final out is tallied, most of us won't fully exhale.

I look forward to seeing the White Sox play in Fenway for the first time in playoff history.

BTW, this is an edit of the above post, but for some reason, it re-posted.

True White Sox fans are thinking to themselves oh crap, we scored all the runs we were going to score for the series in the first game. Red Sox in 4. Now it's crap, we scored 5 more runs, we can't possibly score anymore, it's Red Sox in 5. They might not post it, but it's being thought. 88 years of futility will do that to you.

They certainly have been patient.

I really think that the Red Sox can make a run for this series playing in Fenway, but the White Sox are quite a good team. Gonna be tough to pull this one off.
